Heat wrap worth it?

Gonna be getting the painted pacesetter long tubes in a couple months. Is there any benefit to wrapping them with that heat tape stuff? And if so how much will I need?

I wouldn't worry about them. Haven't heard of any headers burning anything in a long time.

If your plug wires are close to touching them than I would, I went through a set of 8.8 MSD's before I figured out I had to wrap mine. I had to buy a spool of 8. 8 plug wire and a boot kit because they make their wires exact fit

I wouldn't bother rapping them either, and for the cars with plug wires that run close to headers they sell thermal boots that slip on over the ends of the plug wires to protect them. I would ceramic coat or pay xtra for coated headers before taking the sttep to wrap them imo.

Wrapping headers make them more efficient and helps keep heat out of the engine bay. Unfortunatly it also shortens the life of the headers especially if they are mild steel painted. If they are painted at least get them ceramic coated. The ceramic also insulates them keeping the heat inside, wrapping is better but both is best.
