However, now I need more information from LFP and Andre. Once I get that, I will update everyone. I havew requested some dyno stats for both a non-modded / stock car and a modded & tuned car to get stats for both.

-Bryan
Hey Bryan,
I volunteer to have Andre test this on my car. I can take it back to stock with the exception of the Magnaflows. Then I can add the JLT and tune back and see what the difference is. I could meet with him this Saturday. This would be very close to what they did for the BBK TB.
I do like the look and finish of this TB better than the BBK.

2005RedGT,

You've done a good job, no need to try harder bro and get an ulser from it Let the tuners figure it out. Mark could lower the price if he chose to, they are still making a decent profit on it.
To me...this sounds as if the TB's are not ready, and a "certain" number is needed, or wanted for production...just reading between the lines here...maybe Im wrong

Are they shipping as soon as an order comes in ?

Yea, well they also say that all the hp and tq gains were achieved without a tune. That your car's computer will just "compensate" and perform better. I call BS.

I was offered one of the TBs from Mark at nearly the BBK price before the group purchase started. Just for grins I asked my tuner about it. Not going to go in to detail, just say I still have not purchased one yet. Also, Jim over at JDM has been testing a 62mm one ( no idea who's and don't think it is revelant ) and says while yes it does improve throttle response, it showed ZERO horsepower on a dyno. So I am with davids2toys on this one. Going to hold off until there is a little more data. If I miss out on a good deal, oh well. Don't mind spending $100 on taking a chance of hp, but $400 is quite a bit of a chance. Vegasjay is supposed to be getting his in a couple of days and promised a dyno. Would much rather wait to see what he has to say
The TB's are priced high, but thats the price U pay when new parts are in demand, all vendors do this.
Question is...will we find one willing to give a true GP price, and let the products performance sell from there. A GP is to help promote a product, not make a million the first go around..
I saw the JDM piece U speak of,very nice indeed..

The BBK has proven dyno stats in MM&FF of 18/28. LFP has yet to provide any stats, except for what they claim of 8.5/8 with no tune.
Am I seeing this right? BBK is offering theirs for a lot less with huge gains over the LFP. What is the incentive to go with LFP? Especially after the group buy is over, and their price goes way up.

Well there 'should' big difference in quality. Example: The BBK is cast and has lower quality gearing (from what I can tell). The LFP is billet aluminum (that can be anodized) with brass gearing, stepped up ratio for better throttle response. Cast tend not to seal as well and the billet should provide a better fit.

Don't always belive the magazines either - I have seen magazine dynos say that the mufflers available for 05 produce decent gains. However, you will find that most people will be able to debut that. However, LFP need to provide some dyno charts for STOCK and MODDED 05's so we can see proof.

Thanks for holding off for a while Bryan, some of us have to pick and choose our mods very carefully due to budget constraints...I really wish I did not have to, so I could jump on anything I wanted and if it does not work...who cares!

I should have asked first but did not. Is my JLT going to work on the new TB or is the TB too large?

I hope mine ship's out tomorrow...If it does there's an outside chance I could dyno it this saturday. If not then I will shoot for the following saturday...I'm going to bolt it on at the tuning shop after I get a basline. I don't trust the magazines as they must use "Magic" Dyno's...Real world dyno's and track times are all that matter to me. I might also be testing out some Zex...

Not to re-hash this up...
Is this a dead issue ?

If so...I plan to direct that money towards a set of Kooks headers, and cat x-pipe.

After reading this thread and talking to someone I trust. A larger TB will not do much at all for our engine (maybe 3-5hp). I myself So I'm waiting for a few real world dyno's to post before considering a purchase. Thanks to those who are trying out this mod.

Well, good news. Andre has tested the TB and has the results. I will post up pics and dyno sheets as soon as he has them. For now, take a look at his post on ModularFord.com:

"...total of 9.1HP and 7.6TQ with no tuning, no cold air, no cheating of any kind..."

That's good new's... That's a lot without intake, exhaust and a tune. Mine just arrived and it's a work of art. You will imediatley see were the extra money went. I'm shooting for a 15 RWHP gain and those number's you posted might make that possible.
