To be honest, I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it, but I'm getting about 1.5 mpg better gas mileage since I put in Amsoil full synthetic motor oil in my car.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't buy a V8 muscle car to get good gas mileage, I'm just noting that this oil made a difference.

On the average, if I dawg it and during break in, I got about 14mpg. If I go max conserve, I get 20, and driving normal, about 16, and going max range (getting to work as fast as I can without a ticket), I get about 16. But after changing my oil to full synthetic at 3500 miles, I'm getting over a mpg better in every type of driving. This is driving about 15 miles one way averaging 40 mph with a few stops.

Just thought I'd share. Any one else seen a difference with syn?

I switched to Mobile 1 full synthetic at 2500 miles in both the engine and manual transmission. Tank average = 23-25

Just did my first oil change and went with a synthetic blend. I'm curious to see if there's any improvement.

I got the most improvement in mileage out of turning off the a/c and the traction control, tho. Shocked the poo out of me, but now I'm getting around 24 mpg in general and 30 mpg on the highway!

Never too early IMO . . . get the debris from break-in out.

It's the SOP, there's a drain plug . . . on the bottom back near rear of the tranny, takes a 3/8 drive ratched head. Then there's a fill plug on the right side a few inches forward of the drain, 3/8 too.

You'll need to either pump the fluid up into the hole or gravity feed it down via a funnel/hose setup. 3.2 quarts of Mobile 1 Full Synthetic (*Mercon compatible) ATF is what I tossed it there.

Synthetic Blend is what it ships with from the factory.

Yes, Ford has been using ATF in manual transmissions for years now. Go figure. I've got some Amsoil ATF in the garage, probably do that next week.
