Read it carefully, you probably did see it on the news and it probably did happen, it's just that it was really static electricity and not a cell phone that caused it.
Getting in and out of your car while fueling isn't very smart.

Don't believe everything you read. Static is one thing. Cell phones igniting gas vapor has not been proven.
