Brad - wish I could be more specific - but I do know there are two large access holes under the rear seat cushion (one per side) that are covered with rubber access covers and could easily be pulled to check - they do appear to acces the front of the fuel tank area....

Just curious - why won't warranty cover the replacement - you can't have 36K on your '05 yet

there are 3 bolts to remove. One in the center, 2 on each side. If you fold down the seat, you'll find the one in the middle. pull back on the corner of the seat section and you'll see the other 2. Then there are two release clips in front and it just pops up. I looked under those caps and I don't recall what they are for though. I think there was a bolt there. Maybe to the tank strap?

Does anyone know if the Mustang has a fuel return system or is it returnless?

under the back seat, or drop the tank?
Under the back seat bottom, seat bottom is really easy to remove-just use a screwdriver to release the two retaining tabs at the front edge of seat bottom about 10-12" inboard of the seat's outer edge and lift the seat cushion out of vehicle. When reinstalling the seat bottom be sure to thread the buckles through their holes before locking down the cushion.

All Mustangs use a returnless fuel system.
