IF FRPP are out, my ford dealer can install them (they are a SVT dealer). BUT, I have a bama chips tune, do I need to get a modded tune?

Thanks

Also, I know we ran into problems with the springs, but how hard would it be to swap out these cams at home with out any special tools.

I messaged the guy whos video was posted on you tube and this is what he said:
They are actually prototypes and are not availible to the public right now.

The cams installed and dynoed will runn apprx $2500 installed. the cams retail for $750, springs and retainers=$450, some other small misc hardware and the rest is labor to install, and dyno labor. It's apretty big job!! The cams are not availible, but if you wish to stay in touch with us on them you can contact us at, 410-768-3025, or e-mail @ justin@jpcracing.com.Thanks

from what i have read the cam swap can be done in your garage and is fairly easy, without springs.....

if this mod comes out to be only 6-700 than i am definately interested in it

Hey guys...Ford don't make poop anymore. I am sure they are made by someone else like Comp Cams. I just had the Comp NSR cams installed last Friday at Brenspeeds.

The stock Ford camshafts make about as much torque as these engines will ever make. There is room to improve on the HP side in the upper rpm ranges. Don't believe for a minute that these cams will be any better than the Comp Cams. Not trying to be a bubble buster here but it is the truth!! And the Comp Cams will be much cheaper!!

I got the Comp NSR cams. There is only one grind available. The gains are all hp. Very little torque gains.

Honestly with how incredible that sounds if the hp gains are significant and they are not ridiculously expensive I'm game on those I'd put the cash down.... they just sound perfect

$644.00 for the cams+ $280.00 install + $200 custom dyno tune. The dyno tune is not necessary if you get the cams. But it is worth the piece of mind and in my case 8-10 more hp.

I'll be more then happy to give up a little bit of both for that sound. Right now it's just a wait and see approch until Ford releases them.

Whoa slow down there a second man. I looked at your dyno graphs in the other thread--and while you didn't pick up much PEAK torque, you did pick up a bit more torque everywhere in the rev range--and that's what really counts.

Note: This isn't the same results I saw in Brenspeed's testing on their car, but you have LTHs and CMDPs, which their test car does not have--these additional mods might be the key here.

Maybe I should back up and agree with you. You are very correct in what you are saying. Most guys are only interested in peak numbers. As far as peak numbers go these cams are not worth much. 17 ft/lbs at the best spot for me. But as you can see from the dyno graph they do start to pick up much earlier in the pull than the stock cams do. And you can tell the difference when you are driving the car normally. And you are also correct that my total gains are from the cams, delete plates and longtubes. All add to better engine breathing. I am just tickled that I can now get my auto trans cars up to the same level I see alot of manual cars running with the same mods.
