Anybody out there using any of the Front sway bar delete bars...such as Racecraft,or BMR. What is it like for daily driving? Dangereous? Hurt ride any? How bad does it handle? Interested in losing the claimed 26lbs off the front end...but am afraid my car will be all over the road. Is this just for drag racing?

It is really a drag racing application. I have done this and honestly haven't noticeda difference in handling with daily driving. I have noticed the weight shift a little better at the track though.

I don't have mine on anymore, can tell a little difference with more body roll in corners and turning but it is worth the accelleration difference.

So, if I wanted to take my sway bar off, would I need one of these swaybar-delete kits, or can I just take it off? Is the swaybar holding up the radiator, and if so, couldn't I rig up some brackets?

I just took mine off until my radiator support came from BMR. The sway bar removed will make the the difference in weight transfer and take some weight off of the front. Removing the radiator support will only take weight off of the front end. So the answer to your question is yes you can take it off alone, and no you don't need the BMR brace unless you want to remove that heavier crossmember.

That radiator supportis where the majority of the weight savings is at. The swaybar reduces maybe 9-12 lbs. but that really allows the front end to come up better. I can't wait for some nice struts to come available. This will allow the front end to come up at will.

I haven't gotten a chance to get under the front of the car recently to take a look, but how hard would it be to rig up some brackets to hold the radiator in yourslef, rather than spending th money on the BBR piece? I'd definitely want to take out the stock radiator support to save more weight. But my budget is drained right now.

It wouldn't be hard at all. I think George (Blazing Saddles) is making a set. I don't recall.

Thanks. I'll get under there this weekend... I am changing the oil anyway. I'll let you know what I figure out.

I removed my swaybar earlier today, and after changing the oil and washing the car real good, I took a drive to the Lake. I must say, I can't really feel much of a difference in handling (I took some turns pretty fast to test it out), but I can definitely feel the front come up more when I take off hard from a stop. And with overdrive off, when I hit the gas while going 45-55, the front really comes up, more than it did before. Overall, I'm really satisfied.

I plan to take off the radiator support piece next weekend when I have more time. I bought some heavy duty rubber tarp ties, with metal "s" hooks on each side. I'm going to hook one end to the hole down in the radiator (where it site on top of the support bracket), and strap the other end nice and tight up somewhere to the frame.

Anyone who has taken off the radiator support bracket know about how much the radiator weighs? It can't be more than 10 pounds. Is there any reason why some heavy duty rubber (with hardly any flex) straps wouldn't be able to hold it?
