Arrow

I have a C/L Predator,
but I have yet to get the intake.

I updated to the R17 for C/L
As of right now there are only 3 options:
C/L Peformance (93)
C/L 91
the other one...backup or whatever it is...

Is there any way I can get the 87 Octane HP tune in there, and update my stang, while waiting to order the C/L????

Otherwise I'm stuck till I get the C/L in.

When mine boots up, I see:

Performance Tunes
Custom Tunes
Options

Does yours look like that? If so, the standard Diablo (non-C&L) tunes should be in the Performance Tune area.

I checked, here's the main menu.

Performance Tunes
Diagnostics
Options

Under Performance Tunes:
-C/L MAF
-C/L MAF 91
-Original Backup

Go to the C&L 91
Then highlight Mod this tune press center button.

Then highlight Global time press center button.

Then take out 4 degrees of time for a starter.

Press center button

Load this tune. Say Yes

After tune is loaded.

Run the car and if it does not ping move time up one degree until it does then back down one degree,

You must go through the load tune each time you make a change.

You should be running very rich at this time so it may run like poot.
I assume you did remove the HC trap.
If you want to know how to get started in the fuel area send me an E mail and I will walk you through it and data logging too because you will need that to make the adjustments.

I am not computer anything literate but after a lot of sweat, trial and error I am learning thanks to people on the forums.

Just curious,
as the tune is specific for the C/L 91 octane.
I understand that if I want to run 87, thats what I'm suppose to do ...
but I don't have the C/L at all yet.

I'd rather throw on the standard 87 HP predator tune that comes with standard predators, which I thought would be options on this one, but aren't.

Correct me if I 'm missthinking here...

I had the same problem, Diablo told me how to modify the tune but when I tried it the car went into fail-safe mode. I just gave in and ordered the CAI earlier than planned.

The other option is to find a CMR tuning dealer who will give you a standard performance tune for 87 octane and load it as a custom tune into the programmer.

Most dealers charge for a custom tune if you didn’t buy the programmer from them, and if you have the C&L Predator alone, with out the C&L CAI, I am wondering where you bought the programmer alone like that.

You could contact RWTD or someone like that and pay the 125.00 custom tuning fee, then you get free custom tunes from that point on from him, James is an excellent tuner, and does allot of custom work.

Thanks,

thanks Nick.

To me I don't see paying for a custom tune, only to have get the C/L a month later, and have the canned tune that came with it.

And if you think about why I have the C/L Predator without the C/L...its NOT that hard to figure out....

Mine went in the limp home mode and a Predator dealer tuner did the work after he relieved me of a few hundred and I gained nothing. I thought I might as well learn it myself and not pay for someone's training. I was so afraid I was going to screw something up big time but have not. Being computer illiterate I had loads of help from someone on this forum and a lot of sweat.
Boomer can do it and so can you. I don't understand why he did not purchase the generic predator rather that the C&L one but that was his move.
Just take a notebook with you in the car and record your every move and if something goes awash you can go back to your notes. Not once has the GT gone in the limp home. I data log and read the numbers like in my reply to Boomer.
Take small steps each time then run the car. Take the Predator in the car when you are testing so you can flash, read them, record them in the notebook and then erase them if the car does the fail safe number. Mine has not done this yet with my tunes. Notice I said YET.
If a person as computer dumb as myself can do it anyone can do it for sure.

Well, I plan on purchasing the C/L.... that was my intent all along.
I was just hoping I could solve some of the problems (throttle lag etc) until it came in, and run a generic 87 HP tune that I know is on the standard predators.

Short story of it...someone bought the package, and sold me the Predator, as they got a different tuner (SCT X2)
