I'm getting the same noises. My driveway is on an incline. When I turn the wheel all the way it pops as soon as the car reverses. A bit annoying but I'll wait for the TSB.

I just wanted to make sure this issue has not caused any safety related problems yet.

I have signed up for a track day at Road Atlanta in late April. I want to make sure the if I am taking a curve up there that the struts will not break.

Nope they're fine. I've taken mine down some pretty nice twisty switchbacks more than a few times now. I think someone had intimated that the problem was "flat bearings". Just makes noise, nothin else.

So what is the actual mechanical action in the top bearing mount that is making this noise?

Is it some lateral interference between the outer bearing housing and the mount or sheet metal due to rubber deformation under certain loads? Or is it the bearing housing moving on the strut?

It is quite a loud clunk, something must be hitting someting very hard.

Just got my vehicle back from the dealer. Had them check the struts. I too had a concern about safety. I'm driving to San Antonio this summer for a three month training and didn't want any issues. Ford is actually telling their service guys NOT TO ATTEMPT REPAIR on the struts. They (Ford) are working on a kit which they will send to their dealers for reparing the cars. My service guy assured me not to worry.

Luis

p.s. New shaker 500 ordered under warranty and they didn't notice the HC trap was missing

My story is the same as everyone elses. Have the popping noise, dealer says Ford knows, and not to fix it yet. He said that they have replaced the bearings on a couple of cars so far and each one had the noise return.

I don't think I have the same noise that everyone else has. My buddies car was built 3 weeks after mine and has the same sound as mine. It does not "pop" when turning, it "pops" or "thuds" on bumps. It almost sounds like exhaust hitting the underside of the car, or a loose strut. Took it to the dealership only to have them tighten some things up. NO HELP. This car makes bad noises while hitting bumps at low speed. Anyone here this same thing??????????? :bang:
