front end problems

I had the lower control arms replaced by the dealer on my 2008 GT about 6K ago. Now the front tires are worn on the inside tread. My question is would they have done a front end alignment after the install?

Depends on the business. Any suspension work should be followed by an alignment.

the work was done at the dealer. I checked the work order and nothing is said about an alignment. When I made the appointment they said an alignment was done but would not show up on my ticket. Now the mechanic checked the car and said no alignment was done or needed at that time. I thought this was odd. I thought after you take the suspension apart you always did an alignment. Now my car is out of warrantee so I have to pay for an alignment and new tires. It just sucks because i never had a tire wear problem before the LCA's were installed.

The only way to really know if a car needs an alignment is to check it.

Welp! It's done and i'm 60 dollars lighter. They said the toe was out of wack (they used more technical terms). They also pointed out that my sub-frame is new? So the used car that I thought was wreck free was infact in a wreck. On a good note he said it all looks good under the car. I have never seen a "Carfax" that shows the car was in a wreck. I saw the Carfax and it was clean... so i guess they didn't report it? Anyway the front tire are quieter after the alignment. Thats a good thing.

I hit a curb and had to replace my subframe. I'd hardly call it a wreck, it just kinked really easily. However, even THAT requires an alignment...

Carfax is a good tool but it may not show everything.
If somebody replaces a sub-frame in their own garage it will not show up.
