First Trip to the Chassis Dyno Today!
Made my first trip to the Chassis Dyno today, and made a few runs. My car is a 2006 Mustang GT with the 5-speed Automatic Transmission, and currently has about 1600 miles on it. I've not made any mods yet, but they are coming soon. In the best run, I was able to get 261.0 HP @ 6000 RPM and 265.1 Ft. Lb. Torque at 4500 RPM. I have added my dyno charts and some video clips to my webpage too. Just click on the "Dyno Charts" icon on my homepage to view the charts and video clips.

Do you know if they did the pull in 4th gear or 3rd? I ask because my stock baseline was done in 3rd, and I got 257hp/274tq.

Once I can get all my mods installed, I will be going back to be tuned on the dyno using an SCT X2. I know the tech who will be doing my tuning said we would lock it into 4th when we tune, but I will be sure to make sure that we get a couple of good runs in 3rd gear too, for accurate comparison.
I had been looking around the forums in the past, and the 261 HP is the highest I have come across in a stock Automatic, although my Torque is lacking a bit compared to most of the others I've seen.
I don't know if that's because it was in 3rd, or if it's just that it has not broken in all the way yet? Also, I have not seen any other Mustangs with the 18" wheels dynoed -- so could the little increase of overall diameter of the tire have any effect on this?

Your site is great but the pink color font on the one dyno chart was not readable for my old eyes

Those #'s are good compared to others in Mustang Dynos.
Your tech is right to tune in 4th since that's the gear that's 1:1, it's the most accurate.
Also your 18's have the same overall diameter, 27"

I will look at some of the threads again for comparison, but for those who have not previously posted, or even if you have, lets hear your numbers and what type of dyno it was run on.
don_w: do you recall what type of dyno you ran on?

I still don't trust 3rd gear numbers...

Yeah, I don't quite understand getting a "baseline" in third  but acknowledging that when he tunes he'll do 4th gear pulls. Makes no sense to me

The person who runs the shop recommended someone to me, who they have come in on the weekends by appointment to do some tuning. He is their SCT Tuner dealer, and is also a Ford dealership Drivability Tech, so I think he is the best person for the job. When I ran on the dyno, he was at his regular job and not at the dyno shop. I just know that from previous conversations we have had, that when it comes time for him to come in and do the tuning, he will be able to lock the transmission into 4th so that it won't downshift, and we can have a true 1:1 ratio.
But for the baseline, I and the person running the dyno just decided to do the pulls in 3rd gear to keep it simple, and not have to worry about it trying to shift on me while I was running it.
Wow! that was a mouthful
For a third gear pull those numbers are odd. You'd normally see something around 230-240ish for HP in 3rd gear and torque looks low.
I'm sure everything will reveal itself when you get the real guy in.
