Correction factor to account for air temperature, density so that the test data is corrected to what is called a standard day. There is an emperical formula for doing this. Applying a correction you are then able to make meaningful comparisons between different vehicles and set ups from even different locations, or the same vehicle tested in different locations (i.e. Houston, Denver, LA, etc.).

2nd, you are running the 87 octane tune ( which is "retarted" as you put it) so the gains are not going to be astronomical!

I'll bet though, even after that, you won't lose more than 3 hp. Your run being "uncorrected" isn't as bad as being "STD". I've been playing with my dyno runs on my WinPep software and there's only a 1.5 hp difference between "SAE" & "Uncorrected", and another 1.5 or so hp difference if I turned my smoothing down from "5" to "0". Now if I set it on "STD", it bumps me up about 5-6 hp alone right there.
Guys, touring's #'s aren't all that crazy. My best friend put down pretty much identical #'s (actually slightly higher tq) with the same mods & Brenspeed tune on a dyno @ SAE w/ smoothing @ 5.

I ran on a cold day, with the garage cold (52F on the Dyno with even colder air coming in).
Cold air is great for making HP, but the SAE correction takes that into account also.
283HP SAE corrected was 298HP Uncorrected because of true cold air.
I actually was making 298HP, but if it was warmer in the garage I couldn't have done it.
Setting it to STD put it at 292HP.
