I know you can get 285's on the back and I believe 295's will fit within the wheel wells O.K., but you will need a wider (10-10.5") rim to accommodate these tires and the rim will have to have correct off-set to work.

That guy from stangnet has his wheels sticking out the wheel wells because he has too small of an offset.
Paul is right, just get the correct offset and you'll have some nice tasty meats in your car.

Just make sure you get an 18x10 wheel or wider with the right offset for a tire that wide. As far as my set up 255/45/18 front, 285/40/18 back and I love them.

235/55x17 stock rubber on Konig Imagine 17x7 w/ 40mm offset
Rear:
285/40x18 p-zero neros on Konig Imagine 18x8 w/ 18mm offset

My opinion, for what it's worth... get 255/50/17 on your stock wheels and then get some 1" or even 1.5" wheel spacers to bring the tires out past the fenders. Here is a pic of my car with stock wheels and tires and with 1" wheel spacers. If you put 255's on this car with 1" spacers, the tires will be out just past the fenders.

Boss Hog... the spacers I put on came with new lugs. Not extensions even, but new ones all together. Here is a pic. As far as putting on spacers with no new lugs or extensions, I wouldn't go over a quarter of an inch before you need to get longer lugs.
