Adam,
I haven't read every post on this thread but are you sure the sound is coming from the rear? I installed the FRPP handling package which is for the most part Eibach and had a similar sound that you are describing. Drove me nuts for 2 weeks until we finally found it. It was the strut link from the front sway bar, on the strut end was loose on the drivers side. With the stiffer suspension and the strut tower bar it didn't seem to matter which wheel hit a rut or bump the sound was the same. At times I would have swore it came from the rear but once we found it, tightened it and retorqued everything no more noise. The only time I bottom out the rear end is if I enter my driveway with the wheels perfectly straight and too fast! Check the front end out.

I saw someone post pics of there frpp pack and one of the parts for the rear swaybar had eibach stamped all over it. I would be willing to bet the two are pretty darn close.

Yep, I just got the FRPP sway bars and the rear brackets have Eibach stamped it them. Other than being blue rather than red, they look identical to the Eibach kit...but cheaper.

I'm experiencing a clanking noise when going up driveways, going on the street, pot holes, etc... is that 'cause maybe something was not tighten far enough? why could that be? is it bottoming out? It started soon after the install (maybe a week). I expected bumpy, but not so noisy!
Any help is appreciated.
Any help is appreciated.
two things that i found with my frpp kit
(1) if a front sway link comes loose the sound transmits to the rear of the car
i had to have my wife drive me around wile i sat in the back seat with the rear seats folded down.with my upper body in the trunk, checking shock mounts ect. the noise was comeing from the front of the car. needless to say i found a loose front link.
(2) the rear greaseable sway bar bushings have to be regreased EVERY TIME IT RAINS.
the rain washes the grease out of the bushings and they squeek and creek like carzy!!!
other than that the ride is near stock and the cornering is way better!!

Jay, I too have had and currently doing it again. Last night took it back to the shop (this is the third time since installed) and had it tightened again. The mechanic showed me that the holes in the sway bar are bigger than the stock ones. I'm no engineer but I don't see how the clamping pressure of the nut is ever going to hold it for the long term. With the roads in California falling apart I think I'll being doing this evey 6 weeks or so. I called Ford Racing and they claim to have no knowledge of this being an issue. We mic'ed the strut link and sway bar holes. Strut link is approximately 12mm, the hole is 14mm I believe this needs to be a tighter fit in order to stay torqued. Any engineers out there that can add some thoughts?

The factory bolts are a style of locknut that is really only designed for a single installation--i.e. one torque cycle. Ford actually has a new style of locknut that is available (it's like a heavy duty nylock nut with a captive washer, instead of a stover style), but I haven't had a chance to run by the dealer and order a set. I probably will eventually just for peace of mind.
im not an engineer but i do have a 1/2 inch drive impact and i ran the nut down untill i thought it was going to break the stud! and it hasent come loose again yet

Ford Racing called me back and told me that they have seen the problem now. Their recommendation is to replace the nuts and locktite them on even though they the nuts are nylocks. Just what Import-Slaya said in his response above. I'm tried of people asking me what's that clunking sound?
