Hey this might be a silly question for all you guys, but can i damage the car by pulling the e-brake while moving, you know so i can whip around corners and slide?
Also, is should i use my e brake while parking(i have an auto) or will putting it i P be fine?

sorry if all this sounds stupid, but this is my first car with the e-brake by your hand.

you should be whipping around corners in the same fashion with your foot stomped on the gas. E-brake tail whipping is for FWD sissies.

How is it careless may I ask? Its not like I would do it in rush hour traffic or right by a school playground. If its in an industrial park or empty lot what would be careless about it?

With the GT you won't need anything but a little extra gas to spin your rear end. Just make sure you practice in a wide open empty parking lot before you try to tailwhip around a corner... you could end up going the wrong way real quick in these things.

as you mentioned in your initial post, it's around corners and sliding. When you pull on the E brake, you no longer have full control of this 3500 lb vehicle. Drifting isn't done with the E brake, it's done with gas and power. Besides, you mentioned that it sounds pretty "stupid" and I just tend to agree. Is it any safer having one car on the road as opposed to being around a school or rush hour traffic? Just go to websites like break.com or streetfire.net and you'll see all kinds of accidents from people doing dumb things like this on the street. On a track or an absolute desolate area is a whole different thing, but you never mentioned that did you? You asked I responded. I'm not trying to debate you on what is stupid to do on the street.

my goal wasn't to start a debate, when i said what would be careless i wasn't trying to be a smart *****, but try to see if you meant something other than the obvious like hitting something(mabey damage to the breaks or the car in general).

as I mentioned, pulling on the e brake removes control away from you. If you're just on the gas, you can let off the gas or get on the brake. You can gauge how much gas you apply easier than feeling how much you're braking by pulling on the handle. If you slide too much, you can apply the brake as opposed to trying to release the e brake and gasing out of the slide. You'll just have less control with the e brake.

I think what everyone meant was, pulling the e-brake will cause you to lose traction, but with that you will lose control as well. If you can master using the gas to 'lose traction' you have a much better possibility of keeping control as well. The only time I would use the brake is playing around in a large open lot, but this will wear/damage your brakes more than necessary. I would'nt do it. It can be fun to do on video games, but not first choice on your own vehicle. Just remember, when driving you can only do one thing 100% of the time. If you pull the e-brake, you have lost control of the rest. Be sure to 'practice' in a controlled environment. Be safe and have fun!
