Dynoed C&L INTAKE on my N/A 08 GT
#21
I think your a little misleading in your prices there, get on there website as they are selling for $1200, everything else I already have myself and can trim the delete plates on our mill to clear the hood. Same reason I plan on swapping to a return fuel system. Is it necessary at my level? No. Is it beneficial in smoothing out tuning spikes? Hell yes. Take it for what its worth. Yes I have seen a C&L in person, I'm just not as impressed. Power is a bad argument for me as I havent seen testing done on a similar set up. Go with what you like I know the end result for my build and that's part of it. Good luck!

http://store.jpcracing.com/JPC-Racin...ld-_p_161.html
Retail Price: $1,845.95Your Savings: $650.95Your Price: $1,795.00
On sale: $1,195.00
CMRC Delete plates, JPC Fuel Rails and Fuel Rail Adapter [+$500.00]
plus another 50.00 if you have a stock hood.
So 1700.00-1750.00 or 749.00-799.00. For a grand more I could buy a C&L Intake and a nitrous kit.
I'm not trying to start anything just wanted to post the price difference between both Intakes.
From the look of both intakes on the inside the C&L looks better than the JPC. The JPC tubes with the bellows looks more restrictive than the C&L's smooth cast runners. My 2 cents worth.

I don't think the "tubes" are restrictive, runners like that are used in the highest of high performance applications. The JPC has the runners of an individual throttle body set up, but a box and single TB for costs sake and because of the MAF meter. That's always the way I've looked at it.
Look at Kinsler, their "restrictive" individual TB set up uses the same type of "tubes."

I'm not trying to jump down your throat, but I would suggest you look at the fact that each has it's place. Not that one is better or worse, it's application and goals that will determine a buyers purchase.

You showed exactly what I saw in your post, did you miss it? Sale prices rock. And like I told you before, for me it was easy as I have everything else I need and can mill my delete plates myself.

To me I don't see the JPC Intake being worht 1000.00 more than the C&L. I haven't seen any power inprovement and I don't esxpect I will. Even if it make 1 more hp it's still not worth 1000.00 more. I'm glad it works out for you! with you having everything you are still paying 400.00 more than the C&L. I know the C&L makes power. I have seen it on my car and I have seen it make power on a turbo car. On the turbo car it made 47 rwhp more than the stock intake. So to "ME" I see no reason to pay 1000.00 more for the JPC. Good luck with your build!

I said it looked restrictive. They are similer to the Kinsler. I know motorcycles have rubber tubes that look like the JPC tubes (with the big end) and you take the factory rubber tubes out of a R6 and cut the top off and put it back in it picks up horse power. (On a motorcyle dyno) I know we are not talking about bikes but that is just a example.

keep in mind this is all YOUR opinion. let him mod his car the way he feels and you do the same. Its his money not yours, you go your point across that you wouldnt pay the extra money for it so leave it be and let him mod his car to his own taste. After all its his car and his choice, not yours.
