On a Mustang Dyno, she pulled 258rwhp and 278rwtq. Using a 15% drivetrain loss for a 5spd manual, that comes to 303hp and 327lbft at the flywheel. Works for me! Now I have a good baseline and will work from here to get her to 300rwhp.

After losing the trap, has your check engine light come on or any other issues - engine running lean etc ? Are you still using the factory air filter?

No CE light, and actually the car still runs rich according to the A/F reading from the dyno runs. I think leaning it out via reflash will help too. Still using the factory paper filter and airbox too.

That's great. I guess the computer has enough flexibility to at least adjust for the trap removal...

Is your gas mileage better?

My gas mileage hasn't gone up that I've noticed, averaging around 19MPG with every tank.

I have a similar car to yours and my MPG went up from 19 mpg to 19.2 mpg w/o the hc trap.

I have yet to get a kn filter, but I would expect about 15 to 20 percent gains if my old 03 gt is any comparison.

I am holding out for a CAI, but the tax man really wants my money this year. Must find more deductions.

I took my HC trap out the next morning after bringing it home so I don't have any comparison. I too would love to get a CAI kit (C&L), but the tax man is hitting me this year to the tune of $2K :notnice: As far as current gas mileage, I reset all numbers at Disney the other day and on the way home set the cruise at about 62mph (LOTS of construction in the area) and on the 53 mile trip home, I averaged 28MPG

Being a tax accountant, I would say that you need to get a SS # for your car and claim an additional dependent exemption ...

Thanks for the info. I did a dyno on my manual 05 and got 273 rwhp/293 rwtq with only having the hydrocarbon trap out, and MMR Intake without a tune wich caused a check engine light to come on.
