Is this a driveshaft problem

Installed an alum SpyderShaft and am getting a vibration up thru my shifter lever at speeds above 70. It really makes a racket. The driveshaft wae one of several mods I did at the same time. I am trying to determine what has caused this vibration and what to do about it. I have a Hurst shifter, BMR driveshaft loop, BMR uca and panhard bar. I do not think any of the other mods could be causing the problem. Some others have had DS vibrations so they may recognize the symtoms. For those who have had problems, how did you solve the problems. Thanks.

First off, are the UCA or the Metco LCAs adjustable or fixed? The Steeda sport springs give you about a 1.25" drop? Your pinion angle may be off. Also, try pulling the DS, rotating 180* and reinstall, that cures a lot of the issues others have had.

The UCA is adjustable but the LCAs are not. We did set the pinon angle. I will try rotating the driveshaft. Thanks.

Sounds like a shaft problem for sure...... try the suggestion above. Hope you installed the pinion flange correctly- if not, you'll have even bigger problems down the road.

I agree with Tom. I installed my Spydershaft back around Xmas and I did not get the new pinion flange seated correctly. Even though I set my torque wrench at 150 ft/lbs. it did not seat. I also had a gear whine and lost a little differential fluid. I only drove the car a couple of hundred yards before I knew it wasn't correct. I had my car towed to a guy that has done my gear work on past stangs and he fixed it really quick. It needed more torque than 150 lb.s to re-seat the new flange. If you are not comfortable doing it yourself just have the car towed to someone who can fix it. I really doubt that the driveshaft is not balanced correctly. Make sure both ends of the shaft are seated properly. If all else fails call Ron @ Lenord racing.
