Door Handles nor seating cleanly?
Folks,
Has anyone had a problem when they open their Mustang's car doors or shut them?, that they don't lay flat or seat cleanly? What is the fix, dealer or ad-hoc? Its annoying but not a safety issue, the doors are shut. Help?

The actual door handle itself has a spring that's molded right into the plastic on the back side of the handle. The spring can't be changed, the handle must be replaced which means the new handle has to be painted to match. My dealer gave me the part after they had it painted. The interior panel has to come off and the glass must be removed to access the bolts to the handle. It's not too bad of a job, but if you're not a mechanic I suggest a warranty visit.

I had both replaced. This is VERY common. But it's a quick fix at the dealer... after I waited two months for them on national back order and to have them painted.

Do some searches and check out this thread if you are mechanically inclined and afraid, as I am, to let the dealer touch your car. It only applies to a specific failure, but it has worked for me since March of last year. Good luck.
