I've never left the car with the head lights on but I've come close.

Do the head lights stay on until your batteries are dead or do they shut off after a certain amount of time?

Yes, after appx 30 minutes it will shut off the lights, in an attempt to save the battery.

I have a Radar installed. I tapped into the interior lights and after 30 minutes, it goes off. I have tried it with the headlights and they too go off after 30 minutes.

Yes, after a length of time the headlights are cut off to save the battery. Im not sure its a set 30 minutes though cause Im pretty sure I've timed one instance of turning off roughly after 10. It could be set to turn off at a certain voltage but I could be wrong.

I have the tools to test the theory but it really isnt much use to go through with it, its pretty tivial.

I also have a 1990 CRX-Si which doesn't even have a chime to warn you that you left your lights on. After a couple of times of pushing the car down the street to start it you remember to turn off the headlights.
