BTW, had my stock auto dyno'ed on a Dynojet on Sept. 15th, maxed out at 260 HP and 270 Torque. I too will be at the dyno session with Doug this weekend. See mods below.

I was stock, using as a base line run, using 93 octane but no tune or other mods. Everything listed below has been added since the dyno.
I don't have a scanner, but will try to get something posted after this weekend with before and after.

Last I heard I was just some schmuck trying to make a better mousetrap because nobody would make it for me... just turns out a bunch of other Mustang owners like the quality of our mousetraps.Oh, and stealing the tag line from Duracell... When the biggest restyler (well, in the top 3, not sure who ranks where) wanted a custom door for their new flagship car, after comparing the options out there, they called us. And you wonder why we've been so busy lately...

Lets see... He joined today... Went straight to the most heated thread... And made his first post!!!
awwwwww... don't tell me!!! I'm gonna guess this one on my own!!!
I never knew a CAI kit could generate so much discussion (and some of it quite negative sounding) and honestly I'm not a technical person. I have not tried the GMS kit and I don't know if they are lying about the results. All I have to provide to this thread is that C&L customer service has been great and the CAI and diablosport tune combo on my 05 GT is great. It REALLY woke up my mustang. So I can't tell you which one to buy or who copied who...but if you go the C&L route you will NOT be disappointed

A couple people at the Space Coast MCA show saw our handiwork this past weekend, and when they saw it, they knew that it was good...

i just find it funny how JR surpassed all of the questions in the posts and jsut answered a few random ones, of which had nothing to do with the threads topic.
Simply put JR lied about his product. No one is saying the GMS intake sucks. It flows well actually, not as well as the C&L, but whats a few CFM's gonna do for you N/A anyway. he said its never less than 90mm . measure it. doug did. measure it yourself.
No one is saying you wont be happy with the GMS product. Just dont take what JR says at face value. theres a reason he stopped posting at the other mustang site. its because the users there are all very technical and have rebutted all of his products claims time and time again. Honesty is the key to business and JR appears to lack that.

I would just like to say I've known Doug going on nine months now both online and by telephone, and within those nine months ?? Doug has been nothing short of demonstrating how considerate, honest, and respectful he's been towards me as a person and has always taken the time to explain the principles behind timing and fuel curves and how these electronic hand held tuners provide the best performance gains for our Stangs and not once did he ever ask for a single dime from me..So I'll be the first to say, whoever believes that Doug would ever falsify a claim in order to keep money in his pocket ?? is completely 100% dead wrong..and I'm also sure that many of Doug's customers and most forum members, also agree that his customer service is second to none hands down..I can also confirm that Doug has always backed everyone of his claims with 100% accuracy and consistency time and time again and as result ?? has earned my trust and business
to those that answered my question, thank you. to those that think they know who i am take a guess. u guys have no clue. the reason i came straight to this thread is because i had been reading it since last week and i am in the market for an intake, like alot of people that are on this and other boards, we use them to see what other people experiences are with certain products. like i previously stated, my choice is between the c&l and the gms. i am a little more sided towards the gms unit for the simple fact that i dont have to spend more money for a tuner. so people that actually have one of these two systems, thank you for the responses. to the others that are just trying to get there post count up with no knowledge of the products, thank you as well. i am done here and will resort to just reading past your guys useless input. unless you have one of these two systems, i dont care about what u have to say. thanks guys, have a good day. im off to "Engrish" class, guess i should pay a little more atention.
Hey guys, in the final analysis, it just comes down to "does the GMS unit work"? Even barring the claims of a few of what most would consider "excessive" gains in HP, isn't the real question "does it make gains as well as other CAI units with tunes"? We have heard from numerous GMS users and I haven't heard any complaints ... My personal experience is "more seat of the pants HP" and no, I don't have any graphs to prove it...Why, because I don't really care. I got what I currently wanted at 1/2 the price of those that went with the tune? I haven't heard GMS users bashing everybody else and why is that? Because we don't care that you spent twice as much for NEARLY the same benefits and all of the HP gains. Maybe the Non GMS users are just mad that they spent so much when they didn't have to? I don't know. Maybe we should just start a "I hate JR" thread so that they will leave this thread for what it was started as, a good evaluation from a somewhat non-biased competitor (can you be a competitor and totally non biased?).... I have all the respect in the world for Doug so I would never begin to bash him, especially if I don't have my own personal experiences to back it up. I also don't care if JR stole the unit from the Chinese or Russians? If it works, I will buy it.... Jr has never been dishonest to me and his customer support has been as good as anybody's (too me that is) and that's all that counts. If my HP is as high as yours with a cai/tune, than who is the wise man and who is the fool? I do wish I knew a little more about where JR has these units built? Maybe he says that the units should be no smaller than 90. If they are made over seas, who is to say that the quality control doesn't suck? Maybe the molds are no longer correct and need replaced? For a few MM, I am not going to complain (remember I saved $$$$$ by not getting a tune)... If I decide down the road to get a tune, then I am convinced of Doug's abilties and wouldn't hesitate to use him or his product. I think he has put a lot of time and effort into what he does and I'm impressed. So far all that has been proven is that the diamater isn't quite up to specifications (at least on the 1 unit)....What kind of random sampling was done? How many units were tested, etc). IF Doug's dyno runs prove that GMS is at least as good as his standard CAI/tune, then what will the bashers have to complain about..... I can hardly wait to see.
quote, I also don't care if JR stole the unit from the Chinese or Russians? If it works, I will buy it.... unquote
The question in the thread suggests none of the above, but from one of our very own right here in America and then had the Chinese build it.
Is that correct?

I guess if it's not patented, then it's free to be copied. Is that what JR did? I don't know. It would be a shame to scam somebody else's product and claim it as your own. Doesn't say much for integrity but since I don't truly know all of the facts, I can't comment, heck, there are only so many ways you can make one of these anyway. Only JR can stand up for himself or fold his tent and slink away. It is really in his hands as far as this is concerned...Other things being equal, his unit looks good and works fine and he is the only one that uses the MAS jumper which is not being used by anybody else. Engineering had to play a part here somewhere. I am a pro GMS product user but that doesn't make me PRO JR. But I can say that I like the product and never had any issues with JR himself and I have talked to him both on the phone and in person. He seems like a normal guy to me, maybe a bit different but not the devil that he is being made out to be. If it's personality and not product, then don't buy it on those grounds. After all, we all have the ability to buy or not buy based on any grounds.. The Consumers choice...
Oh, I also want to put a turbo or SC on the car sometime in 07. This is the other reason I didn't want to waste money on a tune (if I didn't have to) since I knew I would eventually have to get one with this update. With the GMS unit, I got decent gains without breaking the bank. Just the reason that I think most people went with the GMS...Choices are what it's all about.
CMD plates? Tuner.
O/R H? Tuner or MIL eliminators.
Gears? Tuner.
Tire size change? Tuner.
Drive by wire throttle lag? Tuner.
Octane switch? Tuner.
Get it yet? I'd say I spent twice as much but got about 10x as much. When you pay Doug $399 or whatever for the XCAL 2, you're getting a REQUIRED piece of hardware if you plan on ever making your Mustang perform well. You aren't paying $399 for "a tune". You're talking about wasting money yet you have a GMS t-body on your car. Pot. Kettle.
That argument is hilarious to me. It's been stated over and over that you need a tuner for a lot more than just "more HP and torque".
