Just a reminder for those of you that don't know or haven't read the thread from start to finish........

If you install these delete plates, you will need a new tune. Also, if your car is like mine, after installing these your idle will be noticeably higher immediately after startup, so the new tune may need to be tweaked to get that under control.

I don't mean to scare anyone..... I installed these plates months ago with no problems, but I did end up having my tune readjusted slightly so that the high idle wasn't there. When I say high I mean normal is like 800rpm, I was seeing 1200-1400rpm briefly after startup.

Thanks for the heads up Tom. I certainly plan on installing a new for these. As for the idle, I notice there is a user adjustable parameter for idle on my SCT2, so I'll be sure to note if the idle is too high, and see if I can lower it myself.

Anyone have a write up for the install with pics? I am not afraid of taking something apart as long as I have pictures. I learned to build computers by watching a friend do it once and I assume doing minor things with cars is no diffrent. I wish the Haynes guide was going to be out before fall for these cars.

This one will give you a good idea of how to do it, although I think they do more than is really necessary, like disconnecting fuel lines, etc.

Here you go. The only difference is that you do not need to disconnect the fuel line as the instructions state. Just pull the injectors out of both sides and flip the passenger side over the plenum. Now you can lay them down upside down on the drivers side out of the way. It's really easy to do and that's saying a lot coming from me.

Thanks guys. If only the local car buffs weren't people I've arrested for various things... the job has it's benefits (women like uniforms) but it also has it's disadvantages (most people don't want to help someone who has arrested them).

LOL, yeah, I'm thinking I wouldn't want someone I've arrested working on my car. Probably bad for the brakes, ya know?

Digging up an old thread...

I finally got my plates from D'Agostino today. When I ordered them a few weeks ago their website indicated they still had FRPP plates. About a week later they called and said they couldn't sell them, but they'd give me the Steeda plates for only $12 more, so I went with it. Well, they showed today in Steeda boxes BUT WITH FORD PART NUMBERS laser etched on them! So it's looking like the leftover FRPP stock has been sent to Steeda for them to sell.

Steeda made them for Ford, and etched the number. They are just sending out their stock that still has the number on it. We have a bunch of them here, and so far every one I've seen has been etched with the FoMoCo stamping.

Or I mean uhhh.. Steeda DIDNT make them.... pfff.

In that scenario, FRPP would have nobody else to blame but itself for not getting the delete plates patented in the first place.. Providing of course they ever designed them to begin with in which case they flat out denied on several different occasions
