Check out this CAI
It will make it look almost like an LS1. I like that ram air design though. If that hood latch wasn't where it is, you could make the intake go into the radiator cover, and put the filter behind the grill, then you would get some major cool air ramming into the engine. When I made my custom CAI which looks exactly like the JLT, I first tried designing one that would be similar to this. Does anybody know where to get a filter like that? I looked everywhere and cannot find it. Later.

Here is some pictures of it. As I said, it looks like the JLT, was designed after the JLT, and actually uses a modified JLT tune. The difference is, my MAF housing is made out of a machined piece of stainless steel pipe, and the bigger intake pipe is a solid ABS pipe. It is able to with stand the heat, and will not warp. Also, if I do decide to make a Ram Air induction like the WMS one, I can reuse the MAF housing, and I am set. I will try to make it out there if I can, but it is way out on the West side, and I am not. So we'll see. Anyways, here's the pics...

It probably is. If there were some type of heat shield that went under the filter, and some type of ducting from in front of the radiator/behind the grill, it would defiantely take in cold air. It is a shorter, less restrictive path to the engine, and that is how it would make it's power over other CAI's.

Not bad. I REALLY have an itch to buy a programmer and CAI, but I think I can wait a bit longer (the light wallet makes that MUCH easier...) and see how this intake works in the real world. I still don't trust venders numbers without verification...
I do have to say that the though of going to an aftermarket throttle body scares the crap out of me (related to the comment on the TB being the air flow limiter with this setup!). I know how much R&D the car manufactures put into building these things and I KNOW that there isn't a single aftermarket company that has invested 1% what Ford did... Of course, if they are just boring out the factory TB and installing larger blades....

Well it's not like these bbk or other manufacturers havent made throttle bodies before. Changing throttle bodies is nothing new. I will definitely be trying one, but it will be a little while before I go that route. Good luck to all, and hopefully this ram air box there working on for the radiator cover will work nicely.

OK, how is that NOT stinking in all the hot air that's flowing over the radiator and coming off the block?

Well if you read there posting it says near bottom of paragraph that it will replace radiator cover, and if you have removed your radiator cover you can see there is a lot of space there to play with. So I am excited to see what it will look like. Good luck
sodaman,
Your right. There have been LOTS of companies making aftemarket throttle bodies. They all had one thing in common though: They all had a nice little cable that connected to the side of the thing to operate the throttle plates.
This drive by wire changes a LOT of things. And no, I do NOT automatically assume that a company like BBK automatically has the engineerng expertise to design, build and test an electronically controller throttle body. The consequences if something doesn't quite work the way it should down the line are WAY more than I am willing to gamble with.
Hopefully, they WILL get products out and they WILL prove to be just as reliable as the stock TB. I sure hope so because I DO want to greatly increase the air flow through this engine eventually. And if the factory TB is an airflow limiter...

At last a CAI that makes sense!!!
David, that thing looks awesome. I wish that would have been out 6 months ago. Beware though if you plan to put nitrous on your car, this intake would not work. The nitrous/fuel jet needs to be between 8 to 16 inches from the front of the throttle body for fuel atomization.
Well CRAP! I just got an email yesterday from the guys up there at Western telling me they were ready to ship these. I was going to call them on Monday. You don't think there's anyway to make the nitrous work with that intake?

WMS products always worked well one earlier years so I would expect this to work well too
