WMS says no tune needed, but as in everything else in these cars, I'd have to say it's needed. I suppose it's possible for them to work without a tune, but would have better gains with a tune.

Agreed. So . . . . .

I wonder if this is something WMS is prepared to address?

Perhaps Doug at BamaChips or Scott at Diablo Sport would be willing to tackle a tune if there was enough interest???

Shannon, Doug or Scott . . . . . any input??????

What I want to know is if there is a way to hook up NO2 with this CAI. I don't really know much about spraying. I've heard you can spray into the intake, via the charge motion plates, but have heard negativity about this method. Anyone with NO2 knowledge have any ideas?

LETS TRY THIS AGAIN!

Was also wonder about squeezing a spacer in there, looks like the filter comes right to the radiator. Glad to hear there's room. Didn't realize there was other interest in theis CAI or I would have waited. Ordered mine last week, should have it Monday. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
Will prob order the spacer Mon if everything looks good.
Saw Jet spacer for $93 on autoanything.com, anyone seen it cheaper?

I ordered.. or bought my TB spacer off ebay Thursday, $105 shipped.
On the RK Sport site it was $118 and change shipped.

Well they finally have a picture of the prototype ram air radiator cover. Just thought I would share. Not ready for sale yet. Good luck

Wow, that's quite a production! No doubts about the temperature of the air entering this system!!

This system does not turn me on at all. Where does it get the incoming air? Those two slots in the front of the cover?
Not sure MAF wire is long enough. Do they have a wire extension in the kit?

It looks like it can draw air across the whole front of the box, so it would be getting cold air from outside the engine compartment.

My complaint is how it would effect general maintenance and inspecting the rotating assemblies. With that cookie sheet bolted on the top of the radiator, you won't be able to see or do diddly without ripping it out.

Unless the gains are significantly better, I'll probably buy a JLT.

Looks like it'll probably bake about 2 dozen at a time. Does it have a non-stick coating?

the shroud, scoop, box, baking thing looks pretty cool. It just needs some weather stripping to seal it to the hood when it closes and I think that it would be a great ram-air setup...

Guys, the ram air radiator cover is still a prototype, give it time, but yes, that one definately looks bad. Is there enough air to get into that area to even consider it a 'ram air'?

So, this cold air intake is supposed to pull air from behind the radiator after its been heated by the radiator fins? Does that make no sense to anyone else too?

BTW: the comment about spray and the charge motion plates, could you give me an idea what exactly those are, and what they're for... I've read those words a couple times on the site but have never heard them otherwise. Thanks.

As most have seen threads about the hoods dancing at higher speeds, there is quite a bit of air entering from under the hood. They have also put those two holes up front to bring in additional air. I don't see how it's to bring in air from behind the radiator.
Charge Motion plates or IRMC are below the plastic intake. The stock one's have a butterfly in them that are opened by an arm towards the back of the motor. The aftermarket just delete the butterflies. They're okay, but nothing special. I have them, but would probably not do them had I to do over again. They didn't have any gains or loss on the bottom end, but picked up 6 rwhp on the mid and top end. Here's a pic.

Speaking of Doug from Bamachips (Off topic) He wrote me a new tune and it totally rocks! THe throttle response is instant on both accel and decel.

Now back to our regularly scheduled topic!
