So I get into my car this afternoon, went to start it and it wouldn't start. I waited a second and it started on the second try. Anyone else have this problem?
As a side note, I went out for a drive last night around 6:00 and had no problem starting the car at all. The only difference is it has been hot as heck out here and the car gets parked outside.

Time for everyone to make fun of me.... the six beeps were telling me to buckle up! Shows you how quick I normally buckle up, this was the first time I heard those beeps since the car didnt start.
Still no idea why the car didnt start though... haven't had a problem since.

Very interesting that you posted this. I have experienced this issue..but only ONCE. I had been visiting my sister in law in the hospital and when we came out to go home (also on a hot day) I turned the key and she cranked like the battery was dead. Just a little crank then died. I was like HUH?? Turned key off in dismay, then tried again and started right up. VERY weird. I haven't posted it just to see if anyone else ran into it. Very interesting that someone else has finally posted it.
No idea what could/would cause this. If it was a battery, it wouldn't just come back in virtually 20 seconds. Starter?? It would've happened more often by now. Computer stuff really isn't involved with cranking the car, shouldn't be that.

I have had the same problem with my 02 Explorer in the past. Actually it has happened 10+- times since I bought. I think it is more operator error than the vehicle

Haven't had any problem - always has started right up first turnover.
...but then I always buckle up for safety!
C'mon now would we make fun of you for being quick on the belt?
It's a good habit. Last week the Novi Police decided to slow down traffic on Grand River right at 5PM (BUSY) - simply to bring in revenue from folks who weren't buckled.
I say let Darwin's Law have a chance and stop hassling the 90% of us who just want to be out of work and with friends and family.

I dont think it has anything to do with the start button as I didn't cut the ignition wire, I only stripped it and it hesitated when trying to start it with the key as well.
97svtgoin05gt said it best when he said it felt like the battery was dead, like it was struggling to start.
Eric, I've done the clutch thing to, it definitely wasn't that. But I know what you mean, you have to have it slammed to the floor in order to start the car.

Now that I think about it, it might have happened to me too. I have a 5-spd and I could swear I pushed the clutch all the way down but I get nothing then I try again and she starts. weird. I thought it was just me. I have been driving stick forever and never a problem like that. It doesn't happen all the time though just once in a great while.

Same thing here. I got into my Mustang and turned the ignition... but only about 70% of the turn. It cranked then died. I thought dead battery, too.
What I found out, at least in my case, was to turn the ignition completly and solidly. It hasn't happned since.
