CAI, most reliable one?

there are tons of thread out there on intake and tuners, and it seems that each brand has had some issues. Be it quality wise (GMS early issue, some error codes even with tune, irratic idle etc) What do you guys feel is the most reliable, or since your modding your car, you have to expect to deal with some issues?

FWIW, I am leaning towards C&L Racer for a couple reasons, I think the price is right, I like the look of the plastic intake, and like the track record of C&L.

I bought (2) C&L Racer intakes in 2006. One for my GT man and one for the wife's GT auto. Both were big improvements, got better mileage, some power improvement, and little to no issue.

I did buy the second one from RPMoutlet and got a set of Moto Blue UDPs for $50 more as one of the Hp packages.

I would recommend looking for a package as it will cut cost on future upgrades.

I love my C&L racer intake, it looks right, to the point, not rice at all plain and race ready.,
I never had an issue with it yet, and have over 10k on it already.

the plastic is strong, it looks great.

some people like it aluminum or other color, which is fine with me, but I think C&L are among the best ones.
Just my opinion.

have fun modding!!!

I'm very satisfied with my JLT. I think that you'd be safe with any of the most popular CAIs, i.e. Steeda, JLT, C&L... to name a few. I haven't seen any negative reliablility issues with the aforementioned.

I've had my Steeda CAI for almost a year now and also extremely happy with no problems..Just as Steeltown mentioned you really can't go wrong with any of the top intakes such as JLT, Steeda, and C&L..One of my main reasons for chossing the Steeda is their a direct partner in Ford's technology transfer program in addition Steeda also designs the Ford racing intake which is installed on both the Shelby GT-H and the all new 2007 Shelby GT by Shelby Automobiles in Las Vegas, Nevada which are also factory modified before being shipped to Ford dealerships and are then sold to customers including the Ford factory warranty so personally speaking ? it was a no brainer as far as my choice was concerned..

+1^, and also I don't think any of the good intakes have reliability issues.

I don't think you can't go wrong with any of the intakes mentioned above. I would just make sure you have a good tune with the CAI. That makes a big difference. I personally have the GMS with a Brenspeed tune and I have not had any problems at all and I like it.

Just out of curiosity Joe..did the brenspeed tune allow you to use the supplied GMS MAF ? or did you have to reinstall your factory MAF

I've had the C&L for 1 1/2 years with NO issues. JLT is good also. I think it just depends on what you want to look at.
