CAI and Filters

I know several people have CAI and there are several brands to choose from. Most of the intakes have a 4" opening. If your filter needs to be replaced, can you use ANY filter that has a 4" diameter to fit the intake pipe? I also understand that some Air Filter allow more Air Flow. Will this affect your tune in any way? I had mine dyno tuned and if I change my filter will it require me to recheck the A\F ratios and so on?

I'd said you'd be OK... regardless. Why not just get the replacement filter through whomever you purchased the CAI from if this is a concern?

Amsoil makes replacement filters fitting most CAI setups. They supposedly filter more dirt and flow the same or better than the standard oiled gauze setups. Plus they are a dry filter that you can clean with just a vacuum or compressed air to blow them out. No oil to worry about clogging your MAF. http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/eaau.aspx

Just curious if the different filter will affect the tune. I doubt it, was just curious. The one that came with the CAI is a red one and I would like to get a blue one to match the car color.

Blue would definitely require a new tune...LOL

But seriously, I am considering a Amsoil filter once my S&B gets dirty again.

If blue colored filter oil is you're preference ? look into Steeda as they sell it exclusively for their CAI filters..
