Hi guys,
I have been reading through the pages here and notice there is that a lot discussion about C&L "trueflow" and "Race", JLT II, and Steeda intakes.

Which do you think is best for the Mustang GT?

From what I have read, because I dont have one either yet and want to get one, is that the big players JLT and C&L have comparable performance gains. the demolet tunable induction also offers similar performance. all of these kits require a tuner.

the non-tuner required kits (airraid, KN, bbk and granatelli) all give gains but not like the gain that can had by adding a tuner.

For me I like the plastic intake look and it is a close choice between the C&L Racer or JLT with the tuner.

The air transfer function for the C&L CAI is quite impressive compared to the stock MAF.

Definitely get one with a tune ... I have the Steeda , but I use the C&L trueflow inlet tube ...

Jlt/ sct is definently the best bang for the buck

I have the Granatelli CAI with a tune from Brenspeed. There are a lot of people that don't like the GMS product, but before I had the tune, it ran fine with no problems. Now that I have the tune it is even better. No matter what I would make sure that you get a tune with whatever CAI you get. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

I believe the jlt had the highest HP numbers but the c&l was ranked #1 overall.

I've seen alot with different setup's in relation to the heat shield that comes with alot of the cai's. In reference to Jlt vs C&L, Steeda, etc. Looking at the Jlt, it seems that it would allow more engine heat than the others? Thoughts?

I have the Steeda CAI along with a 93 Race tune from Bamachips. I can't vouch for other CAI's but, for what I notice with mine, you can totally feel the difference. Steeda also came out with their new "High Flow Inlet Tube" which they state will gain an extra 8rwhp and 8 ft lbs of torque. I don't really think it's that much, but at least you get rid of the stock air hose, which I think restricts the air a bit. Mine is on order.

The C&L CAI's air transfer function shows much more potential than stock and a tad more flow than the Steeda.

There are many out there, each with different claims. I bought a kit for $525 for the CAI and tuner which is a great deal IMO and I think it looks great...Tunable Inductions. Doug at BAMA is selling them or you can go to http://www.tunableinduction.com/
There are lots of people who like the C&L or the Granatelli but the cost is kinda high.

Is that right ??? well being that you're such an expert on the subject ? how about showing us actual facts that prove C&L's air transfer function produces a tad more flow over the Steeda ?? this I can't wait to see, especially knowing the fact that the C&L street MAF is 83mm in diameter compared with the Steeda intake which has the larger 90mm MAF ? You also seem to forget that Steeda has also upgraded it's CAI with a new inlet elbow as well which is almost identical to the C&L race intake..
