CA guys...I need Help!

Don't worry about a CAI and Tune when you go to smog. I went in and got mine smogged here in CA with a JLT 2 intake and both my 91 Brenspeed and 91 Bama race tunes passed smog. Not that it mattered, but I also had a set of UDPs installed.
Passed with flying colors. I even switched tunes in front of him to see if they would both pass and they did.

Question.... Isn't a lot of what we do to our cars illegal? I do realize that CA is really strict but if I took my car to inspection here in Austin it will fail miserably. So why not just return it to stock when you need an inspection or what ever other crap the require in CA. One more thing, I'll be living in LA this summer and will be taking my car out there. I'm ok with all my Texas stuff for just the summer correct?
