buying a used SCT2 tuner with dif cal code
i am in the process of buying a used SCT2 tuner but the seller's calibration code is different from mine. is it still possible for me to use it on my car? or will i have to get all new tunes. the seller says he is setting it back to factory and it will have 87 89 and 93 race tunes on it. also, he says that it is "unlocked" and that i will have no problem. can anyone give me some insight on this because when it comes to the tuners i am completely lost

The only way that you could use the tuner is if it is unlocked and has the same calibration code. I "think" you can unlock it on the SCT software that you can download. Buy some tunes from Brenspeed and load them and forget about the SCT canned tunes. If you have a good tuner in your area with a dyno that's even better.

Call Brenspeed in the morning and tell them what's going on. They will give you the right information and if need be they can load the tunes for you.
Personally I would forget about buying the used tuner and buy it from a tuner that will give you tech support and updated tunes as your mods change.
Good luck~

it has to be completely unlocked...i.e. no tunes on it and you will need to purchase a new tune to make it work.
as stated call brenspeed, doug,or any reputable sct tuner, and they will explain it to you.
