Broken Motor. Rebuild Advice
INTRUDER.... Unless you have all the special tools that its takes to rebuild one of these Mod motors or have a friend that does, you will probably be better off to buy an upgraded ( Forged internals) short block from an engine builder like DSS. There are a number of top notch builders around. Also, you can ship them your short block and get a forged upgrade for about $1000 less than buying a built short block. Providing you don't find head damage once you get the heads off.
These mod motors require special tools, especially in the cam and valve installation areas and they aren't cheap to purchase, don't know about renting them or if you even can.
I use to rebuild my own motors years ago, but, that became almost impossible with the mod motors.
Just my thoughts on your situation... Good hunting...

I like driving the car as much as possilbe in the summer.
My friends and I do at least one or two road trip a month to different car shows.
I am more into car shows the the track.
My thinking is about 475 500 rear wheel maybe a little more...
I want to build the bottom and add a whipple with a cooler.
I have all the suspension work done... a TCI 3000 rpm stall and 295 BFG's
Again, I will be getting in to it this weekend or maybe next week.
As i get info I will pass it aloong.
Thank to everyone that has help.

If you're going to put a supercharger on it, you might want to drop the CR down a few tenths.
LISTEN to Don! These engine have too much compression for a super charger which results in stupidly high combustion chamber pressures unless you keep the boost really low. (under 5 - 6 psi) This is why so many people are blowing these engines with too much boost. Also the pistons with their top ring lands located to close to the top don't take kindly to high combustion chamber pressures either. So if you're going to super charge it drop the compression ratio by using some lower compression forged pistions. While you've got it apart you should change the rods for something better also. The stock rods are just fine for just about anything you can do N/A but as soon as you go with a power adder e.g. S/C, Turbo, nitrous you should upgrade the rods.
