Borla install

I have a 2006 GT that I just put a pair of Borla S type axle back exhaust today. This is the first of many mods I'm going to do. Being old and broken down made this job take 6 hours(many breaks) instead of their rosy 1 hour. I started on the right side and had one helluva time getting the tip centered in the cutout. I fought it and fought it. I set it aside and did the left. Took 10 minutes and perfectly centered. Continued again on the right and fought and fought. I finally said the hell with it and left it off center. I am getting new tires and lowering springs tomorrow so I needed things back together. I'm not sure what to do to get it to be centered. Anyone have a similar experience? Thank you for listening.

Used axle backs or new? If used, they could have already been "adjusted" to fit.

I think you have to bend the hangers on the mufflers to get the muffler centered. With it on the car, take note of which way it needs to move to be centered . . . then look at the hanger and visualize which way the hanger has to move so that the muffler will move to center (the hanger will need to move in the opposite direction that you want the muffler to move; meaning if you want to move the muffler down, you will need to bend the hanger up) . . . then take the muffler off the car, us a hammer or pliers or whatever to bend the hanger(s) in the right direction . . . put it back on the car, see how it looks and where it needs to go, repeat until it looks good

yes that sounds like an extremely tedious process, that's why one of mine is still off center, more than 5 years later!

I did bend the hanger a bit but didn't want to go too far. Weather is getting too cold to lay on the concrete now so I'll put that off till better weather. I ended up getting a P2135 code and have to replace the TPS. I'll replace that when I do the CAI. Ford dealer is mighty proud of that part. $117, Rockauto is $61. I'm also going with a Steeda strut tower brace and shock tower brace. Also will be doing a chin spoiler, truck lid blackout panel and a ducktail spoiler.
