Ok...so those of you with JLT, who has the best canned tune? and also is there any place that has the intake and tuner package cheaper than the JLT site?

Ive been really impressed with the support JLT has shown on this site and think he has a great product...im just interested in what you all have to say about the tune....

 

I have the JLT/SCT2 combo. I initially used the DTP tune that came with it. Great tune, but I still felt that the throttle response (both up and down) could be better. Doug at Bamachips was *very* responsive to my emails and questions, and even let me try a tune with the caveat that I only pay for it if I like it. The tune is spectacular. Throttle response on the way up feels like a throttle cable. When you let off the gas, there is *some* engine braking (i.e. the throttle hang is much better than stock or DTP's tune), but still not like a cabled throttle body. I get the feeling that noone has been able to figure this out yet (but as a testament to Doug's customer service, he has worked with me on this and sent tunes with adjustments--for free!).

 

Doug's tune rocks. Much better than my SCT canned tune.

My question is if any of you have tested your car in the 1/4 mile before and after Doug`s sctxcal2

I had brenspeed and doug, i prefer dougs tune much better, especially that torque tune much more fun to drive now

 

After my custom Bamachip tune, I ran the car with a Gtec Pro RR, and got my best time ever in the quarter by .2 seconds. The Gtec was very accurate when I took it to the track, always less than .1sec from the actual time slip.

Plus, seat of the pants and throttle response is better. Can't go wrong with a Bama chip tune... except maybe you'll wear out the rear tires faster from smoking 'em!

I don't know what area of the country you are from but Ken B. from MD Motorsports in Cincinatti has done an real kick butt job in tuning mine.

Bone stock first run was a 14.4 at 95.56 mph
Next run with Dougs Performance tune and nothing else was a 13.9 at 100.71 mph
best run to date with Doug's tune and a C&L cia is 13.5 at 102.22
