Do it. For sure. It is the best mod I have done, hands down. Just get it done by a good reputable installer, and you will be fine. I have motive gears and have no problems. I would not buy an install kit from them though. Do a search on gears and shims to find my thread on my install.

Go fer it! I went with FR gears and found an installer who does gear swaps often. That's the main thing. Not just someone who tells you they can do it, but someone who does it fairly often.
You will enjoy the 4.10's.

Do you think you could PM me the shop name, and possibly the price?

Just like everyone else has said.....a good installer is a must. You'll find your face hurts from smiling so much once you do it.

I posted in another thread that I have had problems with my FRPP 4.10 gears. I had my car done at the same time as another 05 and his was fine and mine had whine. After a bunch of changes (including a new set of gears), they are quiet enough that I can live with them. It turns out some of the carriers on the 05's are slightly different which is sometimes the cause of the whine. So you could be one of the unluckly ones who gets whine even though the gears were installed perfectly.

4.10s with an auto are awesome. I have FRPP and they have been perfect since day one. BTW, you can't get 3.90s from FRPP.

The freeway is where 4.10s are the least useful. They really shine during acceleration on the street and at the track.

I disagree.... although they are LEAST useful on the freeway, for me they lower 5th gear enough to keep me from shifting to 4th sometimes at about 85, when passing....

When I was younger my dad used to tell me that the best accessory I could buy for my car was a lock (keyless) for the hood.

I'm getting mine done this Saturday now Rich. Should I not let loose right away?

Mine and several installers opinion is don't do any serious burnouts or hard launches for 300+ miles. I'm going to let mine develop their pattern alittle before I go crazy. I got on it some yesterday in 2nd and 3rd and I can tell you it was nice!
