I'm really unsure if the Midmuffler setup would eliminate all of the resonance that is found on the 05+ Mustangs running off road Xs, maybe someone with experiance running an O/R X will chime in soon
Yeah that's more of my concern than anything, but am still leaning towards the offroad x. Oh yeah it sounds killer by the way to. Definitely got to save some money up quick.

So its 304SS? Wow and coated. Hmm... Your not making my job of narrowing down my long tube set ups any easier. Whats making it hard is that I love how the prochamber sounds and its hard to find a system which will take that and have long tubes.
Yeah if you are looking to run the prochamber, you really need to go with a set of Mac Headers..Unless you plan on taking it to a shop and have them cut/modify it to work

It is just a welded box that is open on the inside. The exhaust runs into it than out. Sort of a mixing chamber. It does the same thing as the cross tube on an H-pipe.

Hmm, thanks Scott. With what I'm saving I could had it fabricated. Thanks again for all your help!

Smile Long Tubes

Matt, I just bought the exact setup you have. They will be installed Monday at FastLane. They will also be installing a programmable cold air intake, an under pulley kit, and a strut tower brace.

I wonder how much louder this set-up would be with an o/r prochamber.

Anyone know if the prochamber can even mate with this muffler? Hmm something to think about.

The Prochamber is naturally quieter than an H or X because of the resonating box in the middle acts similar to an extra muffler/resonator.

However removing the Cats would definitely wake it up and surpass the noise output of my Catted X by far.

Yes prochamber would hook up to the system.

Matt's correct. The Prochamber will tend to quiet and smooth any muffler system. It will not make it louder than stock.

Seth @ Brenspeed, cause we got to talking, thinks that the LTs and a o/r prochamber and the mid muffler would be sick loud. I originally was looking into Stingers, how would these compaire to stingers anyone know in dBs?

Larmo is doing this set-up minus the LTs. I'll have to wait and see how his sounds. Get his impressions and sound clips. Because as of now I love how the mid muffler sounds with Matt's setup but I also know he has cats and I dont. It just sounds so classic. Bearly(if any) trumpting and drone all for a good price.

Tempting not to just pull the trigger. I want loud and deep idle and wot but not loud enough where I'm going to get pestered by police.

I can't wait. Perfect timing too. My long tubes come in on friday Your set up will be as close as I can get to hearing what the mid mufflers would sound on my car. I hope its what we're both after. And its not even that expensive of a mod.

EDIT: Ok so I went to youtube to listen to some mid mufflers with lont tubes and more catted x pipes and wow... Thats all I gotta say. Sounds SICK. I'm like fighting myself not to order them tonight. I should just wait till I hear yours, lol. Its hard.

If it wasn't so rainy outside and I had access to a good video camera I would love to get new footage of how my exhaust sounds now that its broken in!

Like I told you earlier the tone has deepened drastically and trumpeting at 2500rpm is almost completely absent. The sound up top is best described as Pi**ed off!! My favorite thing about the system is that below 2300rpms it does NOT attract unwanted attention, its just a deep old school rumble. BUT from 3K+ it turns into a whole new animal!!!

Story time: A 350z came flying up on me tonight as I was trying to get home, and I figured I would give him a little taste of the new pipes. So as we are heading under an overpass I drop into second around 40mph- with his front bumper at my rear, and punch it! It literally sounded like the world was coming to an end as the sound revirberated off the overpass...Needless to say Mr. 350z got the picture and didn't want to play anymore, slowed waaay down, and turned a couple miles down the the road.

Haha, I did the same today. Prolly not the safe effect since I only have GTAs for an exhaust system. Needless today it put a grin on my face. I sit here with credit card in hand, looking at the mid muffler system... I just wonder if it'll be too loud and how bad the trumpeting will be since I have no cats and LTs which produce some trumpet as it is.

Oh I forgot to mention cold starts in my apartment complex with buildings on both sides are FUUUN to say the least. I started it up one morning and my friend came out of his room and yelled down at me "Dude, your car sounds like a tiger eating someone's face off!" And while at the time I wasnt sure how to respond, it had to of been a huge compliment because he was smiling ear to ear- so I figured it was sig material

Edit: A lot of people say the trumpeting is really cured when you move the mufflers to the middle of the car, and while I can almost 100% agree with that statement every once in a while I will catch a slight trumpet. None the less, there is virtually no drone.

Exactly, the moment you pull up at the local car show or drive by a group of people and they all crane their neck to check out your car- makes everything about this hobby worth while!
