So I JUST got pulled over for 'Exhibition of Acceleration'...I thought that was more or less out of commission in a sense?

I was at a stop light getting ready to turn right on red, but there are cars coming so I pull out quicker than normal and since Im running gears with a short tire in the back my first gear is very short- So I wind it out to about 3,500rpm before I shift into second, knowing that I need to get moving so I don't get rear-ended from behind. Honest to god I MAY have gone 1/3 throttle.

Drive about 50-100yards, see the red/blues flashing immediately pull over, throw on the dome light, turn off the car, and put my hands on the steering wheel. Next thing I know, more back up cruisers roll in behind me and I start to get a little nervous thinking I must have really ****ed this guy off!

Came up to the window and All he could really say was that since my car was bright red and my exhaust was "way too loud" I needed to be on the look-out for trouble. He was a cool guy, but it kinda threw me for a loop when the other officers rolled up and said I could have gotten a ticket for exhibition of acceleration.

I called my dad (complete gear head) as I was cruising home and he just laughed and reminded me that I really had no idea how loud it was outside the car. So the morale of the story is, if you don't want to attract Cops this might not be the exhaust system for you.

Man that sucks. Least you got away with nothing but a warning. Now I cant even imagine that set up with an o/r system. Hah

Here's the way I look at it, there's tons of Harley's rolling around with exhaust that's way louder than many of the cars out there and I wouldn't hesitate to do what I wanted due to Johnny Law Of course you already have the right method as far as being on the look out and not running rediculous but it comment's like this "you have a red car" that just kill me!

So **** what, unless your running 100+mph while running from law or something like that it shouldn't really matter. There's a ton a **** going on in the world today outside of exhaust that is louder than stock.

lol i guess the cops here in ga are a little more lenient

i remember a couple days ago, i was going through a tunnel in second and gas it like 3/4 gas up to about 4000 rpms and then shifted to third and right out of the tunnel i came up to a cop (this is on a 2 lane road) going the same way as me. i slammed on the brakes and he looked over and floored it and i never saw him again

It's all good, one of my best friends went to A&M. Oh yea, we play our first b-ball game tonight .

The video was pretty cool BTW. I am curious, why did you decide to go with the shorter tires?

is that popping sound of the excess gas being burned off coming from the headers everytime you let off the gas? my dad's car had headers and it makes that noise whenever you let off the gas and i love that sound

i was hoping my car would make that noise with the headers but it doesn't. is this because you and him are both running rich? because i had my tuned and they changed the air/fuel ratio. does that have anything to do with it?

It was actually a bad idea to go with shorter tires, in hind-sight I would have liked to go with a 295/40 from Falken but LOVED the KDW2 tread pattern.

I am looking to replace them sometime in the future just to get a little more sidewall bite off the line, as well as fill the rear fenderwell

Yes, I have been told that it is unburnt fuel but really cannot elaborate anymore as I don't want to spew inaccurate info.

I made the comment to someone that I loved the popping sound on deaccel and they said while it sounded cool, it was actually a indication that the tune was off.

lol well i love that popping sound too. i dont really know much about tuning but can you change your air/fuel ratio on the xcal itself or does it have to be custom tuned?
