Battery Terminal Corrosion on '06

Recently noticed that my positive battery terminal was piled up with nasty, green and brown corrosion and the battery appeared to be leaking acid from a seam. Battery checked okay, and thankfully the dealership replaced it. They didn't replace the wiring harness, though - just did a half-assed job cleaning the connector, which has the silver plating burned off. Not thrilled about this or the fact that the technician used my shiny Tungsten Grey fender as a work bench with no protective blanket. It's my fault about that, I had service done on a Saturday by an underpaid technician most likely unhappy about working on the weekend.

Questions:

Anyone else experiencing battery terminal corrosion on their new Mustang?

What causes battery terminal corrosion on a new car?

Should I expect to see this on my new Mustang frequently?

Thanks - I appreciate any input.

no problems here. Clean it up as best you can and then put a light coat of grease on it. I supose wd-40 would work for you also.

You can always try the 'Penny Trick'.

First find a new Ford dealership to administer your service work! They should never work in the engine bay without fender blankets! Second corrosion like you have described in not normal!....It was probably just your battery!
