Exclamation Attention all SCT X-3 customers...

Hey guys,

The new X-3 has some issues with memory size and uploading files into the car. These issues have been resolved with the latest operating system, or firmware as SCT refers to it. The new firmware can be downloaded at....

www.sctflash.com/downloads.php

and selecting the X3 Flash Device. From there you'll need to download the "X3 updater software" along with the " X3 Flash Device Firmware".

Once you have it installed go through and update your X3 with the latest version.

Now, from what I've been hearing this will clear out your X3. You will have the Pre-loaded SCT tunes on the device but if you have custom tune files it will erase them.

If you purchased your X-3 from me simply email me and in the subject line please put " X-3 updated need custom tunes" If I see this over the weekend I will answer your email outside of business hours. I normally dont do this as this is an issue that is truly outside of my controll but I hate to know you have a device that you cannot use. This shouldn't apply to anyone that received a notice that your X-3 shipped yesterday, 9/27, but to previous orders. Either way just let me know.

Thanks, Doug

I just went through this scenario and Doug sent me the tune files ASAP ... my tuner is now up and running and my tune successfully loaded. Even though SCT website says installing the firmware should not mess up the custom tunes ... it did. I was getting a file read error. SCT tech support had me erase the internal memory and restart from scratch. The instructions are in a sticky in the SCT forums. Dan

So are all the x3 bugs sorted out yet? Are there any other issues?

Is SCT a subsidiary of Microsoft? They seem to follow the "rush the product to market without proper testing, then upgrade on the fly" doctrine of product release.
