Any other Procharged guys running hot?

I've had my car get hot on me a couple times over the past few weeks and I'm curious if it's characteristic of a ProCharged car to get a bit hotter than a naturally aspirated on. It's gotten hot most notably when I'm running my A/C on a hot day or climbing a steep incline in the more mountainous areas. I'm in SoCal, and it's been hot as hell lately, so maybe that's just it.

What is the best remedy to keep my car running cooler? Do I want to consider the Ford Racing aluminum radiator, or is there an easier, cheaper solution? I've already tuned my fan to come on at 170 for the low setting and 180 for the high.

Any info would be great.

Thanks,
Kris

LFP has a nice aluminum rad for about 400 bucks...I run 70% distilled water and 30% coolant w/ a bottle of Redline "water wetter". That seems to help.

Try putting in more water (as opposed to coolant) like Vegas said. You'll probably never have to worry about it freezing, except maybe in the dead of winter. Water has the highest specific heat of any normal substance, so it requires a lot more heat energy to raise its temperature. basically, nothing will cool your engine better than water, so add some and see if it helps.

You need to add the wetter water to keep down the micro boiling which creates a thin layer of steam reduceing the effectivness of water.

Call ProCharger and report it too ... I was the first and a few other have done so as well. This is an issue that they should be addressing via their research - not ours

However, without buying a new radiator, I have had the best luck with 70% water, 30% coolant and 1 bottle of water wetter. However, this was not as good as needed, so I am testing some tune options as well.

I will let you know how that works Kris.

Thanks Bryan, I look forward to your findings.

It seems as though my bypass valve isn't working correctly anymore either. I noticed it this weekend. My **** boost gauge still isn't hooked up so I can't be sure, but it no longer discharges the way it used to, which worries me. It used to make a very loud blow-off sound, and now it doesn't. I just had 3.90's and an NX intercooler chiller installed and got it back from the shop with this new issue. But I checked the connections and everything seems in order and all the clamps are tight.

I had a similar problem when Houston Performance rebuilt my engine. It turned out the be the tubes from teh S/C to the intercooler were not tightened and we loosing all boost. Recheck your tubing
