Well if you want that deep musclecar sound, then the h-pipe is for you.

I just had my 05 emissions tested a few weeks ago here in Texas (Travis co.). I asked the inspector about this. Yes, all he looked for was the presents of cats. He didn't care if they were stock or not.

However, even w/ a stock exhaust, i failed my emissions test because the rear O2 sensors were turned off in the tune (for the CAI). So I swapped everything back to stock, got my sticker, and switched back. The lesson here is you rear O2 sensors are going to have to be on and "ready" per the ECU for the emissions analyzer to pass the test. With LT and hi-flow cats, I seriously doubt you won't get a CEL or code. I believe (hope) the solution will be MIL eliminators. They will let the car's ECU think everything is on, ready, and OK. If anyone thinks differently, PLEASE let us know!!

Yea I was thinking of MIL's too... Would there be anything wrong with leaving the rear 02 sensors on with LT's and Catted H?

Well, it looks like it's in the works, so we're good to go!

I'll get a price, and availability going for a pre-order when we're closer to the availability date. Nobody wants to pay and wait 3-4 weeks, and I wouldn't want to hold the burden.

I'd take an H over an X anyday... This sounds like the way to go provided the price is right. Count me in.

Any shorty header set would be compatible with the Pypes H Pipes.

Will the MIL's make the lt's pass emissions?

the MIL simply make your computer not throw a code. so if your engine didn't throw a code, and you have a catted setup.... yes it should pass no problem

Exactly, it will allow for the CEL not to come on. I know most states have policies similar to PA that if the vehicle is over a certain year they allow you to just run a spot test for CEL's rather than a sniffer test on the dyno.

Prototyping is in the next few weeks. From there, it's a go... just have to preorder as they build systems to ship out.

Ok so then I guess I can pass with MIL's, AR 1 5/8" LT's, and a catted h-pipe right?

I will be doing that setup then. My parents won't buy it for the car unless it passes emissions so I am glad that it will.

Sweet! You're doing your parent's car quite well! Gotta convince them on the boost next!
