Aluminum driveshaft

I been doing a lot of research and still need advise, what is the best driveshaft for a 06 automatic? I seen the Steeda but it only supports up to 750hp not sure if that’s to crank or RW. Can you guys help

I have a Steeda 3.5" aluminum in my 2011. It is a quality piece and a good balance between capability and price. I am naturally aspirated so the 750 hp rating is fine for me. If you need a higher horsepower rating look at The Driveshaft Shop or have a local shop build a custom driveshaft for your use.

It should be fine, I am pretty sure the 750 hp is at the wheels, but you can always check with Steeda to be safe. Good luck with your build.

Shaftmasters also offers a reasonably priced aluminum driveshaft, very similar to the Steeda (might be the exact same thing, not sure) -- something like $600 last time I checked.

For super high HP/Torque numbers you'll need one of the high end carbon fiber shafts, price tag is in the thousands. Pretty sure Driveshaft Shop has them, or Google can find them.

Be aware that some of these shafts (the lower priced ones) use U-joints which are said to have vibration issues due to the driveline angles, if the angles are not set just right. The higher priced ones often use CV (Constant Velocity) joints which are claimed to eliminate the phasing/vibration issues, but have other potential issues such as slop in joints (and potential vibrations due to the slop). If you are going to spend the money it's probably worth investing the time to understand the differences to make an informed choice.

In reply to the original question: I guess one of the carbon fiber shafts with the CV joints is probably the "best"
