AEM CAI...

I can't imagine a CAI not needing a tune. That seems like it would be common sense.

K&N, Airaid, AEM and MRT are all examples of CAI's that don't require a tune, there maybe more, but that's all I think of off the top of my head.
wow those seem like good numbers but those are from the same people that are selling it so they will say almost anything to make an extra buck.. Thats marketing. But maby its true. I know that my sisters boyfriends dad has the AFE intake without a tune and his performance is just as good as my C&L with a tune. We ran heads up and were dead even. So I think that its possible to get good gains without a tune. AEM just has a little more bling to it.
Now if it had a 3' tall spoiler attached to it I would call it rice.

Ok, here's my follow-up question and response back from RPMOutlet:
George,
Was the stock tune able to compensate for the increased air flow to avoid a lean condition? Was the A/F mixture OK? I am trying to determine if I can just buy this intake along with Flowmaster exhaust without having to buy a tuner. Thanks,
-Bryan

The A/F numbers were still within the factory limits 12.2 to 12.5 At WOT. You should really consider the DiabloSport Flash Tuner with this package, at that price i really is a great buy. We offer free custom tuning with or predators, so if you need a little tweaking of the tune we can easily do a mod at no charge, turn around time is usually 1/2 hour depending on the time of day.

These guys seem to know what they are talking about. I think the AEM is the choice for me.

Here's the answer I received this morning from RPMOutlet:
Bryan,
We have tested the NEW AEM Brutforce DryFlow Air System on a 100% stock 05GT and came up with an average of 16 hp, and no long term or short term check engine lights. We added the DiabloSport predator using only the standard DiabloSport Performance tune for 91+ octane and came up with an average of 33+hp. We opted to advertise a lower number for a correction factor dependent on fuel quality. Hope this helps answer your questions.

Would it be too much to ask for before/after dyno results? If you have the means/cash to do it, I think a little write up on a new (latecomer, but new to most of us I think) option would be great! What do you say?
