5.0 in a 2007 GT?

Does anyone know if the new 2011 5.0 engine will work in the '05 thru '09 GT's? I would really like to do an engine swap.

I think after you price that new engine and the electronic package required you are way,way better to pull you existing engine and do a 302 stroker rotating assembly and cams to your existing engine. What I propose can be done for under 5-6 K labor included. That 2011 engine will cost 8-9 K (my guess) plus you computer will not deal with it. I know this because for a very short time I thought about the same swap. The dollars and sense of it does not make sense.

Might as well throw a turbo or SC on for what it's going to cost you and get more power.

This is the 302 in my car. Cannot recall extact cost. Think the III heads and Comp SPR III turbo cams were about $4K. Motor rebuild might have been around $4K, maybe less? 76mm turbo setup another $6k or so. Depending upon the boost and use, you will need way more fuel, maybe Fore Precision triple pumps + megadriver, the stock transmission will have to go. If you are dragging, you'll snap the rear like a tooth pick, so need to change all that stuff too.

Turbo is pretty well hidden. Right in front of motor

I see motor/tranny/harness/ecu, all your basic engine swap needs. Depending on the mounts, you'll probably need those as well, after that you can figure out the driveshaft and an exhaust is always easy enough.
