I have noticed in various forums that there are complaints on the 2005 Mustang GT
Brakes Squeeking /Squeeling excessively! I am wondering how many people are having this concern! And also has anybody found a Remedy for it! Mine occurs on light braking at medium to low speeds! This is an auto car and I did a couple of mean powerbrake trials! figured that may have caused it at the time!

Mine squeeks low to mid speed and pedal effort. Push harder and it goes away only to return when I ease up on the pedal. Tried using brake cleaner, washing etc... all to no avail. stinks!

Mine squeek a bit as well on light pedal effort and slow speeds.
Probably just the metallic brake pads. From experience with these on another of my cars, I don't think there is a remedy for this unless you can put a different brand of pads in which are better as far as squeeking is concerned.

i just watched a show on speed channel that adressed this exact topic ,the squeeling is caused from the new compounds used in brake pads have a lot of grip without fade and some times cause a high speed vibration witch in turn causes a squeel ,there is no damaging afgects from it it is just annoying ,they gave the name of a product that sprays on your rotors ,i lube for lack of better terminology ,that solves this comon problem with all newer cars ,but sorry i do not remember the name OF IT BUT IT SHOULD BE SOLD IN ALL MAJOR AUTO STORES . i have the same problem but have just been too lazy to try the remedy
i will post the name of the product if i remember it !!!

Mine don't squeak thankfully.
Something to keep in mind, when you buy a new car, EVERYthing is new including brake pads and rotors. You'll want to go easy on them for a few hundred miles to let them break in some and seat propperly to the rotor. If your hard on them right away can cause them to squeak.
if you've been kind to them, I'd let the dealership replace or fix them, new brakes shouldn't squeak at all or if they do it should go away after some miles are put on the car.

I currently have a 2002 Honda Accord, and the brakes squeek like crazy on it. Previous Honda's I've owned have never made a sound, and my 99 GT Mustang was totally silent. I don't understand what has changed in the last couple of years. Asbestos was removed years ago, and I've never had a car squeek like this, even with non-asbestos pads. I've changed the brakes on the Honda, and the pads were glazed which resulted in low speed squeeks. Very annoying.
Squeaking here. Dealer turned the rotors and replaced the brake pads once. Squeal went away for about 1k and then came back with a vengeance. I take it in tomorrow am again so they can look at it for the day. If the squeal comes back after whatever 2nd fix they try, I'll probably buy some new brake pads and try those before I take it in for a third time. I do not believe that this is normal behavior, otherwise we'd all be suffering from it. This is a problem, albeit a minor and embarrassing one, and should be resolved. I'm confident that it will be resolved.
