Squeaking here. Dealer turned the rotors and replaced the brake pads once. Squeal went away for about 1k and then came back with a vengeance. I take it in tomorrow am again so they can look at it for the day. If the squeal comes back after whatever 2nd fix they try, I'll probably buy some new brake pads and try those before I take it in for a third time. I do not believe that this is normal behavior, otherwise we'd all be suffering from it. This is a problem, albeit a minor and embarrassing one, and should be resolved. I'm confident that it will be resolved.

Let them buy them, you should not have to pay for anything...WARRANTY!! Furthermore, they are taking a lot of life away from your rotors buy turning them, I would not let them do that again, obviously that is not the problem.

Originally my brakes did not squeek at all, but now they do. Shortly after putting 2000 miles on my car is when it started.

I think 36% is a pretty good indication that something is not right!

Now, how do we get the info to Ford so they PROPERLY correct the problem and do a recall?

When I took my car in again the service manager said that Ford was aware of the problem and told dealers not toreplace pads as they are working on a fix. No big deal.

As for turning the rotors, I could care less as I will be replacing them anyways.

I just bought my first Mustang (I previously stuck with GM) and was noticing squeeking brakes. I was hoping they just needed to be broken in, but it sounds like it's not going to go away. It happens for me when lightly braking.

Sqeeking the day I bought the car, last Saturday. The saleslady told me if it persist to let them know and they will take care of it. I noticed too when I gave her a bath Friday afternoon that there is some rust on the rotors of the front brakes. Should I be concerned? No other problems to note.

And Man I Love My MUSTANG!

Mine squell a LITTLE bit, and it's sort of random. I think it might just be dust getting in my breaks because after I wash my car it generally stops. It's not a long drawn out squeal either, it just does it when I first put my foot on the break for 1 second then stops.

Like another poster mentioned mine is generally under light breaking only.

I noticed a v6 car I drove the other day had the exact same Squeek! My Gt is Squeeking again also! The only time it seems to go away is after my wife drives it! She drives like she is in Nascar!

mine didnt squeel until they changed my wheels to the bullitts

they have ever since then

in the people that have squeeling brakes, have your wheels been off?

maybe there is something about the rotors warping with incorrect torque, or sequence??

im going to take mine off and put them on the lathe this weekend to see what i come up with

No squeeks on mine and I have just over 600 miles on it. Hopefully it will stay squeek free.

I got tired of waiting for a Brake fix from FORD so I took matters into my own hands today! Now before anybody says Ford should fix this I AGREE. But I am tired of having people check out my car only to be embarrassed by the brake squeel. Ford has released a new Part number for rear pads so I figured maybe thats where the problem was. But sometimes a new part number is because of a price or vendor change. Also Both the v6 and v8 use the same rear pads and I drove a v6 that had the same squeek it seemed the logical place to start. Anyway I removed the rear pads and they looked great so I applied some of this BG Products stop squeel and hoped for the best. After a short drive the squeel was still there so time to do the fronts. The front Pads were smooth in the center but rough around the edges. Sharp as a matter of fact!. So I took a small sanding roll and chamferred all the sharp edges including the slit down the center. I then soaked them with the BG Product and let them set for 20 minutes. After reinstall and a Long test drive the squeek is GONE. But only time will tell if it returns. I will update as mileage accumulates! But for now the Mouse is Gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the post, and please keep us updated on the long-term results. Also, is the center product in the picture the one you soaked the brake pads in?

A little over 4k on the clock, no squeaks here, even after a car wash or in the rain.
