I just hit 3000 miles on my 05. The breaks started squeeking. The dealer says that don't see a problem. Does anyone have a TSB on the brakes?

I had a squeak on my car, the dealership looked at it when they replaced the gas tank and did the front strut fix and said there was some glaze on the rear brakes and buffed it off. Squeak was gone but is now coming back, perhaps something with our braking system is causing brakes to glaze creating a squeak, and when people do the bed-in method it temporarily removes it until the glaze comes back? Would this mean our brake pads just stink hiney?

My brakes only squeak when they are heated and while turning the wheel far to the left of right.

Ok had the brakes done at the dealer ...did the bedding in of the brakes but it was still squeeking but not as bad as it was before .Had the dealer cut the sharp edges off the pads and sand the disks/brakes and so far after 2 weeks of driving it had one very light squeek for a second but thats been it .

The brakes used to get worse the hotter it got before the bedding in of the brakes ,I think with kevins cut the edge of the pads and the bedding in the brakes it might have got it ....I'll keep you posted as time goe's by .

Well, now they are squeaking again.
I'm calling tomorrow because it has become worse. Maybe Ford has come up with a fix now.

Now before I get flamed...

No, I don't have a stang yet, but since there was some discussion early in this thread about the problem being the brake pad composition, I just thow I'd through this out there-

I have an '04 F150, 12kmiles so far, no brake squeak. Sounds to me like there is a lot more going on than just brake pad composition. I never "bedded in" my brakes, I just drove to work. Backroads. Not much traffic.

Back in the old days, a squeaking disk brake was fixed by putting a "washer" of sorts between the brake pad and the caliper, or just a bit of grease on the disk sliding surfaces (not on the pad itself! :nono: ).

Now, I don't begin to say I know how different composites (asbestos, ceramic, metal etc) pads sound differently when braking. That's why I said that my '04 F150 has never had the problem. Perhaps the brake pad material is different, but I wouldn't think Ford would change it after only a year.

I hope everyone that has this brake squeal is able to get it fixed. Will the brakes still work? Sure, but why turn heads that way? This Mustang is so great at turning heads by being quiet (well, almost. Love that GT engine sound!)

I did the beddin in process with 700 miles on the car...time will tell. I did it as a preventative measure, I had no squeek yet!

leaking brake fluid? Mine are noisey only on the rear...no leaks. Is this the first time Ford has used 'vented' brake rotors on the rear? Seems like a harmonic squeal from the rear. The same way you can make a harmonic sound when rubbing your slightly wet finger around the rim of a crystal glass. Different pads are the way to go. Most threads I've read had the problem stop when switching to another manufacturers pads.

If ya need pads, I recommend Raybestos Quiet Stop. This is their top of the line pads. Have 'em on my '97 Chevy truck and theres not a peep out of 'em.
