What I've read is it particularly helps at high rpm shifts. At that point the drivetrain is under extreme pressure and may affect the linkage. This keeps everything relatively in place so you don't mis-shift at high rpm's.

the che torque limiter kit is about $150 or so, and a cheap option. I'll probably get that when I garage the car this winter. I'm also getting a Mcleod RST and matched flywheel so I have a bit more longevity.
But first, I'm trailering the car to a mid November drag rental at Cecil County MD, and giving the car just one more shot at 11s before opening it up. I think I can use some cooling fans to keep the tranny/clutch cooled down between runs, and try getting those numbers the first run or two, maybe it will hold on for 3 runs.
My GF's car just lost the LSD, so we're going to try to get a trutrac in there before the same event. She beats the hell out of the 5 speed too. Look at her launch on heavy stock bullits!
