Call me a dork... But I do plan on getting the Flowmasters for the V6 I plan on purchasing for a little extra something in the sound. Since the V6 doesn't have cutouts for a dual exhaust am I going to have to either A) get a hold of the GT bumper piece or B) have it cut out?

Well, I have been debating going with this or the SLP Loudmouth..... and now that I see that this will probably be so much more expensive than the loudmouth...... The SLP is looking mighty appealing. BUT, these with no, or high flo cats would sound insane! Too bad I am in California...... :bang:

The 05 trunk is pretty big though. For a Mustang, anyway.

I agree with you on the muffler placement though. Took my rear wheels off to rotate my BFGs and saw corrosion on my mufflers because the rear wheel thows all that wet salt from the road, right onto my nice hot muffler! :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: :notnice:

I wonder if any aftermarket will make wheelwell inserts to cover the access to the muffler from the wheel spray?

With a bit of foam, fiberglass and time, you can make your own covers 38special. It can be messy (ok. That's a lie. It is ALWAYS messy!), but you can make some VERY nice stuff once you figure out how to work with fiberglass.

Doesn't sound that great too me, not much better than stock in my opinion. Not very deep at all. If you like it great if not, the best exhaust I have ever owned was borla, But I like the bassani as well. As in everything else you usually get what you pay for.

You have four years before they require a smog test. I say high flow catted x pipe. In four years if it doesn't pass, slap on the OEM. There are plenty of Harley's and rice burners that will be louder than yours.

I know.... my bike has an (almost) straight racing pipe, and intake mods..... thankfully no smog test on bikes

But my stang will be my daily driver, and I dont know if i want to risk it..... even tho those flowmaster 40s sound AMAZING with high flow cats..... I think I will settle for the SLP Loudmouth, becuase its cheap, so I can spend money on the stereo, and it sounds pretty good.

First, these sound NOTHING like regular Flowmasters... thank god. They sound great, but not $435 great. I'll wait for the prices to come down. That's rediculous for 2 mufflers and tips. Should be around $250. Looks like stock is still my choice.

Well I can say that I have flowmaster 40 series currently on my 05 GT and they sound great.

Very nice deep growl sound but I do not wake up the neighborhood.

I am very happy with them and they do sound good on a V6 also.
Had these on my 2000 v6 cat back exhaust.
