Nice kill. Doing some quick math, 155 mph should be 5500-5600 rpm with stock tires and 4.10s.

i might of been a lil higher in the rpm range than 4700, but it def wasn 5600...and yes my speedo is reflashed for 4.10s and i have double-checked its accuracy by driving next to 3 diff friends now...its within 1 mph of all of them. whatever, i was watchin the road not my tach
new story: beat a c5 vette! ON THE FREEWAY! last night i was on highway 50 goin home from sunrise (sacramento people know what im talking about), and was cruisin along at like 85 when i pass a yellow vette, who hit it and caught up with me. we matched and slowed to like 45mph and i did a 3 honk to get started. i pulled about a foot on him at first, then slowly started walking away, and jumped 3-4 feet on the 3-4 shift (dont think he knew how to powershift). i let off at bout 120, and i was about 1 car ahead. im sure if we did top end run tho he'd tie or beat me cuz of the aerodynamic factor...
btw, it sounded MEAN, he had exhaust for sure...goin too fast to hear if an intake tho

Are you suggesting an M3 is not a worthy competitor to the Mustang in a straight line? That would be odd.

Not to argue, but math is math. How do you know if you're going 155 mph if you're not looking at the tach? The gauge only goes to 145 mph. Do you have after market gauges? I can convert rpm to speed if I know the gearing. If a 3.55 is turning 4550 at 147, then a 4.10 will turn 5500 at 155. If you redline third, you should be going 87 mph.. You can confirm this on a highway kind of legally. Third gear is 1.32, fifth is .675. Dividing 1.32 by .675 will show your speed in fifth gear. (1.32/.675) * 87 = 170. Your car should redline around 170 mph. 155 (91% of 170 at 6000) should be 5500 rpm. If you get a different speed in third, you must have different tires than stock or a new tranny.

i have diff tires, 255/50/17zr
i know the speed cuz my friend ridin shotty was pressin reset on the "average speed" function and it read 154. i did the math before i got gears (which is why i picked 4.10s over 4.30s) and it came out that 6k in 5th is 176.4x mph... and again, the last i *looked* at the tach it was 45-4700...no exact science there, sry
and to Diamondblue, i do go to the track quite often, but its just not enough, and everyone knows that who is into racing and modifying cars

and yes, those mods (4.10s, steeda pullies, jlt, and dyno tune) are worth every penny of the 1400 they cost me ;-)

Yeah, I got 5300rpm @ 155mph with 4.10s. However, 4700rpm with 3.55s is 157mph. You think maybe he didn't reset his speedometer?
------
Edit: read more.
4700rpm ÷ 0.675 ÷ 4.10 = 1698 rpm @ rear axle, = 28.3 rps (rev per sec)
28.3 x 84.9" (255/50/17 diam) = 2403 in/sec = 200.26 ft/sec = 136.5mph
5300rpm w/4.10s = 154mph I think we have our winner...

no im saying unless you have driven an M3 or any M car its like night and day to a mustang. you pay 55K dollars and you deff. get your moneys worth. If could afford it i know thats the car that i would be driving.
