Played golf this morning and was on my way home down the Interstate and almost got ran over by a black BMW. Lots of cars on the freeway, so I moved over and let him by, but we happened to get off at the same exit, which happens to turn onto a nice long stretch of 4 lane highway in the middle of nowhere. Sitting behind him I see it's an M3, I'm guessing 2000 - 2002? I don't know, not the absolute newest body style, but the one before it. Anyway, as we go through the light, we are behind 1 car in the right lane, 2 cars in the left lane.

The BMW gets around the guy on the right and right on the pickups bumper in the left lane. I gracefully edged up behind him, when he darts back to the right lane around the pickup. Hmmm, ok, bye buddy. Well the pickup moves over and it's clear sailing for about 5 miles ahead. I gas it up a bit to about 70 and slowly gain on the M3.

We pace each other for about a quarter mile when he starts to nose out on me, so I pick it up to about 75, and nose him out, he then retaliates by nosing me, so I lay into it again and keep pace. We're at about 85 now and he starts walking out. I say to myself "Ooops, you dun messed up now didn ya?!" So I push in the clutch, blip the throttle, slam it into fourth and BAM, I immediately start walking this guy, get out about 1 1/2 car lenghts ahead, move into 5th and am still pulling. So right about the time I've proved my point and let off the gas I look down at the speedo, 130 Mph. Wow, that felt good.

So we both back down to about 70 and cruise into the populated areas and coast it down to the speed limit. We get through 2 stop lights just cruising in front of, behind, and side by side of each other when we finally get to a stop light. I rolled the window down and honked at him. I said "Man, that car moves!". He was very complimentary of the Mustang, said Ford got it right this time. Really good guy, light turned green, and we just mosied off from the light and turned in seperate directions down the road.

Never thought my first race in this car would be from 85 - 130 against a BMW, but it sure was fun. Now, don't ANYONE do this. It's illegal, bad character, and every time you race God kills a kitten. That is all.

What are you smoking? The newest M3 (not the one coming out with the v8) was a 333hp v6 and is one heckuva car. And yes, they are a force to be wreckoned with...

The up and coming new M3 will have the M5's V10 with -2 cylinders...
400hp on the M3 V8
500hp on the M5 V10
